I feel like this is a big thing for a lot of millennials; especially those with traumas or neurodivergence that struggle hard with people pleasing, confidence, or purpose. Finished up Dragon Quest 7 just in time to still play 1&2’s remake on release day 🙌 7 was really cute (and occasionally heartbreaking) that was great despite overstaying its welcome and not respecting people’s time occasionally with lot of “run back and forth for 30 minutes”. Still a masterpiece.

Got a bunch of glow in the dark discs (and a pretty sparkly pink one) that I’m super hyped to throw.

One thing I love about JRPGs is how many of them eventually culminate in “welp, guess we gotta kill god.” Then you and your best buds grab a bunch of snacks, maybe hang out by a campfire for a bit, and through the power of friendship commit deicide together.

Got to go disc golfing yesterday, go some new shoes in today that came with keychain. Had a dental procedure today. Pretty stoked even if dental work means cool drugs without the ability to have wine and cheese. Kids book club was fun and my son’s bday party is tomorrow. Good busy weeks are nice.

This week was pretty great. Final fantasy music with my son, disc golf with an old friend, great Japanese food and AFI playing some of my favorite songs tonight with my wife for her birthday. Hell yeah.

I got to play disc golf for the first time in 20 years with one of my closest friends I hadn’t seen in forever. It was a great day. Only lost one disc (it was Halloween themed, felt like whoever found it would get a cool treat) and the King almost drowned in the moat I didn’t see but I did it!

I’ve been chasing away the depressies with nostalgia in the form of JRPGs. Too excited for Final Fantasy Tactics remake (a top 5 of all time) so I decided to load this up. I have become comically bad over the years and learned there was no permadeath after the first mission. Strategically stunted.

My phone glitched on gps and wouldn’t show the guide, kept giving me a notification for a text and wouldn’t mark it read, and now all my calendars are broken. Big deal when you have 4 kids. Cannot recommend not updating to iOS 26 enough, it’s fucking awful. #apple #ios26 Apple’s gone downhill hard.

As if these few weeks couldn’t have sucked more, found out another friend passed away. He also gave me hope and pointed me in a positive direction in some dark times. Crestfallen.

Hell yeah, beat Dragon Quest 6. It did a lot of cool and innovative things story wise. The encounter rate was a little high and some of the dungeon design wasn’t my favorite, but it was still a fun and sweaters with warm cider level cozy time. Now I get to use my 3DS again and continue with 7. 🧙🏻‍♂️

The thing nobody tells you about Cincinnati is it’s surrounded by a moat of chili. You have to know a guy to be let in. Kids’ birthday parties are such a good time when it’s your friend’s kids so everybody is hanging out and having a good time. A lot of life lived and to be lived between the ages.

I’ve never played Dragon Quest 6 before and have stayed unspoiled, so it’s pretty hype to play a new to me classic of my favorite series. Only one mainline unplayed DQ to go after this and I have DQX installed with clarity on my steamdeck so I’m hyped to get to that too. Video game happy places r 👍

Today started with a migraine after getting off a bad shift at work followed by a poosplosion which needed rinsed in the tub where the tub stem broke so the water wouldn’t stop but ended in movies and a pool with the kids, with beating Dragon Quest 5 in the middle. The bad days can turn around quick
