I find it very funny every time OpenAI employees tweet about how good of a writer their latest model has become. It's a great writing *assistant*, but the writing it spits out by default is so bland, generic, and stylistically mediocre. I say that as someone who's used it a lot for copy-edit ideas.

I *mostly* think the AI bubble talk is overstated because the biggest companies are investing from cash flow not debt, and the rest are getting private money, not public. But watching Cursor raise over $3B is a useful bit of intellectual humility to remember that there is no singular correct answer.

I switched back from Cursor to VS Code a few months ago because Cursor was getting a bit unstable for my liking, but I'm trying Cursor out again and I simply forgot how unbelievable the autocomplete in Cursor Tab is. I know most developers live in VS Code, but Cursor really is worth the upgrade.
