Over 140 health professionals have signed an open letter calling on the Government to develop a national plan to reduce smoking that prioritises action on mental health inequalities. The signatories include leaders from charities & royal colleges, senior clinicians, academics & health professionals🧠

The letter comes as new report from ASH and the Mental Health and Smoking Partnership shows that 1.5 million people with depression and anxiety are at risk of being left without the support they need to quit smoking. 🚭

The signatories to the letter are calling on the Government to act to ensure that people with mental health conditions are not left behind in the journey towards a smokefree country. Read more here:

From the Challenge Group: Regular use of vapes or NRT during pregnancy does not appear to be associated with any adverse effects in mothers or their babies. If a pregnant woman chooses to vape and if that helps her to quit smoking and stay smokefree, she should be supported to do so.
