Been playing some 3v3 and 5v5 of Highguard on PS5 and it's fine, actually. It's a bunch of genres and ideas smushed together and a lot of rough corner shaven off to remove as much friction as possible. I have no idea how long I will play it but with some friends it's fun.

Watching Stranger Things again, now at season 3. I remember thinking the Mind flayer was a neat villain (people melting into a puddle is kinda fucked up) but I hate Hopper in this season. He's chubby and angry and just stupid. A lot of characters are extra stupid and cartoony in this season.

I miss the Metaverse fad, at least it gave us a few interesting consumer VR headsets. The AI bubble doesn't give us normal humans anything at all and makes everything worse and more expensive.

I haven't tried Highguard yet but I don't think for a second it's as bad as Steam reviews make it out to be. I've never seen a probably mid game getting such bad publicity by simply being announced at a weird time.

Managed to buy all the Project Gotham Racing games second hand. Will try playing them, starting with the first game, later this year after I've HDMI modded one of the old OG Xbox consoles I got my hands on!

Played Disco Elysium for about 9 hours and it's probably the best "non-violent" (as in no direct combat) game I've played. The dialogue system is very engaging and it actually manages to feel like an investigation at times. And the inner voice is very fun and intriguing.

Soon they're downgrading it to just "project" and still not finish it.
