Covid and pricing has basically killed going to the cinema for most of my friends. We used to do it regularly but now it's very rare and I basically have to drag them there. I don't miss the hassle, the talking people, youngsters on their stupid phones, but I miss going there with friends.

Continuing with Final Draft of Alan Wake 2 and it really is Remedy's best game since Max Payne 2 and their magnum opus of visual presentation. Everything they've learned from previous games distilled into a visual treat and a meta commentary about itself, creation of art and genre expectations.

Finished Mixtape on the Steam Deck and it was a good game. Seen some critique of it being nostalgia bait and a bit too white, but I found it to be a very effective story about growing up, friendship and also the medium of music for us to pin moments and emotions in a time and place.

Finished it. It was a fun and fine shooter. Some performance issues on the Steam Deck, flawless performance on my PC. The combat is fun, if a bit easy and you can finish it with basically two OP weapons with little need for switching. The boss fights are also very uneven. Some even kinda bad.

Why does the LEGO game basically require frame-gen to get 60fps on PC...? Oh, right... They've switched to Unreal Engine...

Been playing Mouse: P.I. For Hire for about 7-8 hours and it had a very meh start but the combat gets better and better the more abilities and guns you unlock. There's a lot of... Cheese references but I find it charming enough.

Also got the Duke Nukem bust from the Duke Nukem Forever: Balls of Steel Edition dirt cheap. I hangs out at the office with my happy plants.

Finished Pragmata this Sunday and I loved it. Not a perfect game, not a unique story, but it's such a cozy game with engaging combat. Took me between 13-16 hours as I played an extra post-campaign mode. Did almost ignoring some of the VR Challenges. Recommend it.

I so want to know more about the Pebble Time 2 watches but they STILL haven't shipped. They were meant to ship in December... I'm not ordering anything before I can see a hands-on.

Had an argument with Google Gemini as it suddenly claimed it couldn't set timers for my lights (something I've done for years) or even control them at all. It refused until I asked it to Google if it got support for it and after it fact checked itself it actually worked again. Wtf?!

Been playing a fair bit of Pragmata and it. is. delightful. It's the opposite of a Sad Dad game and it's very refreshing. The story is fairly predictable but I don't mind as I find the puzzle combat fun plus Hugh's and Diana's relationship adorable.

Imagine if aliens arrived, wanting to talk to our world leaders. Even if they were super friendly Vulcan space elves, one meeting with Trump, JD Vance and/or Hegseth would turn it into Mars Attacks after minutes of talking.
