Hey! Sorry it’s been forever since I’ve posted any writing; life has been a bit unavoidable lately. I wanted to offer a brief update about “Metamorphosis” and “The Fragile Masque.” Neither has been abandoned. Both are having new and recent chapters (re)written—about which I will post more soon <3

“Scene XII” of the Fragile Masque of Sanity is done! As one of the more experimental chapters in the novella, I wanted to explore alterations of consciousness and concepts of disassociation. Hopefully this chapter did those themes justice! The second half is in the comments~ (Part One of Two).

Chapter Six of “The Fragile Masque of Sanity” is another shorter piece—serving as a kind of interlude/prelude to the heart of darkness. While it is less action-packed than the chapter before and after it, I once again hope you enjoy my poetic flourishes.

Chapter Five of “The Fragile Masque of Sanity,” a slightly longer vignette, represents a fundamental turning point in the narrative. This chapter also shifts the homosexual/homosocial subtext between Thomas and John into the spotlight. I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter Three of “The Fragile Masque of Sanity” introduces the character of John, a gifted dresser (resident surgeon) and close confidant of Thomas. The main story—starting properly—begins here, with the discussion of the death of Elizabeth Dott proving the catalyst.

Chapter Two of “The Fragile Masque of Sanity” is a short character sketch revealing some of Thomas’s motivations, upbringing, and perspectives. Since this chapter is relatively brief (and since I finished Chapter Seven already), I'll likely post the next part tomorrow or in the coming days ~<3
