I can see the Persian Gulf from my window. Iran lies just 60 miles away, hidden deep behind the curve of the earth. Tomorrow should be just another work day. But it might become something else. There's no sense agonising over what I can't control. So I pick up the mini & get myself back to painting.

I forget how unforgiving cameras are. The #Drukhari Wracks looked great during painting. But looking at the photo, I can see so many misses & mistakes. Well, I learned my lesson a while back. When it comes to painting, the "Mk 1 Eyeball" is far superior to any digital camera 😉 #WarhammerCommunity

Played a great narrative game today. Recreated the Starship Troopers Outpost 29 battle with #Ultramarines making a last stand against endless waves of #Tyranids. They lasted until round 10. Random spawning & objectives granting special buffs made for many exciting moments. #WarhammerCommunity

I'm working on some fresh meat for the grinder. And the thing about #AstraMilitarum is that you either go big or go home. With 59 models on my hobby table, batch painting is the only viable approach for me. I'm two colours down & just started on the third. #WarhammerCommunity

Sometimes you just get very lucky. Someone was doing a clear out & needed rid of some unwanted #AstraMilitarum taking up space in their cupboard. I popped over & picked up a mountain of plastic. They're going to need some fixing up, but my Guard army just doubled in size. Wow! 😮 #WarhammerCommunity

I prefer my Astartes to have their helmets on & I really hate it when I'm not given the option to use helmets. Calgar was simple to sort out. But Cato Sicarius took a bit more effort. Not quite happy with the positioning of his pistol, but it'll do. Anyone else done the same? #WarhammerCommunity

"Good enough" is an incredibly useful principle in our hobby. It helps calibrate our expectations of success. My #Ultramarines are for gaming not display. These reinforcements are good enough for the tabletop. So I'm calling them done & moving on to the next project. #WarhammerCommunity

It's counterintuitive, but because I'm such an impatient painter, I always choose batch painting. Faced with a tableful of minis, there's nothing more off-putting for me than finishing a mini & then having to start from scratch all over again on something very similar. #WarhammerCommunity

Had my 2nd ever game using my #Drukhari. I didn't do as well as last time. My friend ran his #DarkAngels using the Vanguard Spearhead. I got stomped but learned a lot about my army's weaknesses. I have another game planned for this weekend. 2026 is gonna to be my Year of Play 😁 #WarhammerCommunity

Needless to say, things didn't work out well for these Hekatarii. I played my first ever game with the #Drukhari. I had a blast taking on the Emperor's Children. Great learning experience. I was blown away on points but the army held it's own & the game was hella fun. #WarhammerCommunity

2025 was all about the Tyranids for me. Had so much fun with the bugs. But New Year, New Army. In this case not so new. This #Drukhari army was in storage (fully painted & never played) since lockdown. Added some new units over holidays & am finally ready to play them in 2026. #WarhammerCommunity

Haven't touched my Raven Guard in ages so I've stripped them to flip them to my Ultramarines army. Interestingly I remember stripping & flipping some of them from Ultramarine to Raven Guard years ago. Nothing is permanent when you have methylated spirits & an old toothbrush 😁. Took my Rogal Dorn out for a spin. Despite the threat of "new model syndrome" it somehow managed to last until the 4th round when The Lion took a distinct dislike to it. I forgot just how much I enjoy playing Guard. Can't wait for the next game. #WarhammerCommunity

I'm still having fun converting models into Genestealer hybrids. Here's my take on a Neophyte Hybrid Navigator. No third eye. No Astronomicon. Just the ever present susurration of the hive mind to guide their journey through the Empyrean. #WarhammerCommunity

After a bit of a detour, it feels good to be back painting my #Tyranids. I love this army, not least because the models are so quick and easy to paint using Contrast. And finally, I get some monstrous terrain to sprinkle into the games I play. #WarhammerCommunity

I needed to clear my mind & cleanse the hobby palate. So I dusted off these old minis & gave them a new lick of paint. Yep, I've had Dawn of War on my mind 😁. I used the minis to experiment with oil washes too. A fun little change & a very useful learning experience too. #WarhammerCommunity

As with all horde armies, I went for a simple & fast paint scheme but with emphasis on making the GSC facial features visible on the tabletop from a couple of feet away. #WarhammerCommunity

Ignore corporate profit, wealth gaps, asset buying splurges. Keep looking down & not UP for what's going wrong in Blighty.
