Your "Cards" of the Day: Topps 1961 Magic Rub Off set had some interesting images. Playing off player nicknames resulted in Billy Martin and Pete Runnels with pistols, Harvey Haddix as a cat and Dutch Dotterer wearing wooden shoes.

Your Cards of the Day: Author Jim "Professor" Brosnon's intellectual prowess was recognized by Topps with cartoons in 1959, 1961 and 1963, plus on a 1961 Magic Rub Off.

Your Cards of the Day: "Photo Bomb" Edition: Joe Simpson is bombed by Tom Paciorek on his 1981 Topps card. Both players had great 1981 Donruss cards, with the Comiskey Park exploding scoreboard in the background.

Your Cards of the Day: The great Luis Aparicio modeled the short-lived, royal blue White Sox era on multiple cards. The uniforms were only worn for two seasons (1970-71). Perhaps the snazzy duds are forgettable because the Pale Hose lost 200 games over that time span.

Your Cards of the Day: Why did Topps use this open mouth photo of Rico Petrocelli on his 1970 card? It was picked over the photos used on his Super and All-Star card. Based on the sideburns and/or patch, all three photos come from the same session.

Your Cards of the Day: On 1973 cards, several players modeled the Braves new cap while wearing the pre-1972 uniforms. The photos were most likely taken at spring training in 1972.

Your Cards of the Day: Don Leppert had three cards as a player. The first two are "chaw" shots with the all too familiar gaze into the abyss pose. However, his 1964 card is perfect. The spring training setting and the posed action is the epitome of classic.

Your Cards of the Day: "Slightly Different" Edition: Lee Walls had two cap-less shots taken moments apart. Due to the green tint issue, he had a second photo sans cap in 1962. Of course Topps reused a photo in 1963.

Your Cards of the Day: In 1968, kids could be excused for mixing up the Reds' Chico Cardenas and Chico Ruiz. The bunting pose, smiles, Wrigley Field setting and unfortunate nicknames combine to create confusion.
