Today is a big win for Illinois and American democracy. I am glad the Supreme Court has ruled that Donald Trump did not have the authority to deploy the federalized guard in Illinois.

A peaceful round of golf this morning at a Chicago Park District Course, interrupted by hovering helicopters, low and loud. This is not normal. This is not "peaceful". Our city isn't (or wasn't) a war zone.

Texas has bused and flew over 30,000 migrants to the Chicago area. Our community welcomed these refugees. Now, this same Governor is sending the Texas National Guard into our community to round up immigrants. If this isn't the 2025 version of a civil war, please explain to me what this is.
