It’s mid-June and the White Sox are tied for first place despite missing their most dangerous hitter for nearly a month. If I’m Chris Getz I’m exploring a trade for Hunter Greene right about now. I’d offer Hagen Smith, Billy Carlson, Kyle Lodise, and Tyler Schweitzer. Dunno if that’s enough.

The best thing that can be said about the White Sox picking Zack Collins at 10th overall is that for as bad as he was he didn’t stand out in his draft class overly much in that sense. Ten years later and none of the first 30 picks has reached even 10 bWAR.

I’m an avid student of history and I’d hoped to be able to travel the world and explore ancient sites when I retire, but as I near my goal I find the world available to explore is steadily shrinking thanks to a variety of assholes.

As somebody who almost religiously watched the White Sox those years, I would never describe Viciedo’s defense as, “once serviceable,” no matter what the numbers say. Great arm that was unwise to challenge, but that was where the praise stopped. Best of luck in retirement to the Cuban Tank.
