I still have some ends to sew in, and it'll need some sort of edging, but otherwise my 2025 temperature blanket is complete! I used the Snowflake Temperature Blanket pattern by Kaye Adolphson and Yarnsmiths Create DK. It's about 55" wide and 78" long. 🧶 #Crochet #TemperatureBlanket

Well, my NYE is proving to be remarkably similar to my Christmas Eve, except that I've moved on to crochet blanket assembly and watching some comfort telly...

All the decluttering going on has turned up a few treasures, including this *very* 1970s photo of tiny me and my parents. It's a bit faded and damaged, but I did my best to clean it up on my phone.

However low my mood, rewatching a few episodes of @taskmaster.tv can always make me laugh. (Currently on S9E4 of my endless cyclic rewatch...)

I managed to get out for my Christmas Day walk up to the top of Beacon Hill.

It's perfectly normal to spend Christmas day hot glueing a strip of crochet to a polystyrene cone, right? Though I will have to make it a little hat, as I cocked things up a bit and didn't manage to cover the very top of the cone... Pattern is the Mysa Tree from KAME Crochet (free on Ravelry)

I am tired and sad, but I've made myself a mocha with a splash of amaretto and I only have one more square to make before I start assembling my crochet blanket.

Cat on my lap (to be absolutely accurate, he's lying on my legs), some crafting underway and Fallout S2E2 on the TV. Not a bad way to spend Christmas Eve. Could do with somebody to refill my coffee mug for me, but I guess you can't have everything...

Dental checkup day! While my dentist phobia is nowhere near as bad as it used to be, I still get very nervous. Fortunately it looks like everything is ok apart from that I've apparently been biting the inside of my cheek - probably stress related (you don't say!)

Crochet Christmas tree is finally finished! It may be a while before I can look at a granny square again...

I have reached what I'm calling the "seven of nine" point of my blanket (which I am massively (annoyingly?) entertained by). Two more large squares (aka eight small ones) before I have to decide on a layout and border.

Today has been a day of much people-ing, as I'm helping man the craft stall at my local church Christmas Fayre. Only an hour to go before I can retreat home (and get shouted at by the cat for leaving him alone)...

I was feeling all proud of myself for getting my temperature blanket back up to date, only to realise that I'd messed up and accidentally repeated three days at the beginning of September. It'll just have to stay like that, as there's no way I'm redoing over two months of work... 🧶 #Crochet

I don't yet have a knitting photo for this week's #ShowMeYourKnits prompt of indie dyed yarn/indie designers, but this is the ridiculousness of my yarn cupboard. Almost all of this is from indie dyers (mostly Posh Yarn) and all heavy lace weight or finer. 1/2

After the second to last round of my mosaic crochet square, I can cut the contrast colour yarn and just continue with the main yarn. Guess which one I just cut? Ah well, I can cope with a couple extra ends to sew in, I guess... 🧶 (Still annoyed though)

Day 2 of working on this tangled skein of cobweb weight merino yarn, and I'm finally starting to make some progress.

They're replacing a transformer (not the robot in disguise kind) just down the road from me, so I've taken my crochet off to a local cafe where they still have electric. I've left the cat with plenty of food and water, plus a hot water bottle to keep him toasty...

Truly bizarre dream last night - I dreamt that I'd been on Taskmaster but had somehow forgotten all about it until it popped up in my social media memories. It was all very strange indeed...

I don't have too many examples of hats for this week's #ShowMeYourKnits prompt (and even fewer with decent photos) but I used to knit them for my husband to wear while running. Mostly knitted in 2x2 rib in yarns from Posh Yarn.

I've been out for most of the day, so Hector Von Whiskers is making sure that I stay put now I'm home. (Just don't tell him that I'll be doing the same for the next couple of days...)

A little (in more than one sense) happy happy from this morning. I don't think I've seen a wren on the bird feeder before, though I know they live nearby as I often hear them.
