I snagged a Ryzen 5800x3D off craigslist for under $300! I was certain it would be a scam, but no, was just a guy selling parts from his kid's system after upgrading to AM5. VR stuff runs SO much better now, and the crashes from before -seem- to be gone, so far...

I want to run an old-school AD&D 2nd edition game. With plenty of tweaks and home-brew, sure, but that was the D&D of my youth, and I never got to play it at an actual table! The style and -mood- of the game is so different from the modern versions.

It's weird how difficult it is to find a draconic avatar base I'm happy with for VRChat. Velos is a simple creature design-wise. Lithe, slender muzzle, no spines/spikes/fins/frills/fur, just smooth horns and the ears. Yet every base is encrusted with STUFF, or super-muscled, or toony like a fursuit.

Biggest takeaway from FC this year: I -need- to host gaming nights with more regularity! More creatures! More social! MORE.

Despite my last post... Browsing my AD archive from the old site reminds me how much I miss that sort of free and open teasing! I'm a terribly shy, reserved creature most of the time, but I don't WANT to be. It's very nice having spaces where my brain will let me relax into such playful behavior.

Much as I've enjoyed running around as the little kobold guy in VRChat... maybe instead of fixing him, it's finally time to find a modern base and get an avatar that's more "me". But that's so difficult to accept, because Velos is not and has never been anthro or bipedal!

The SydNYE fireworks display continues to be SO COOL. No other new year's show even comes close!

Played Terraforming Mars with friends last night, and it's so much nicer with the 3d-printed organizer! No bags or sorting, just unpack and go. No bumped player mats, frames keep all the cubes where they belong.

Never mind Seattle, I'm thinking it's time to seriously look at moving to Australia for a while. We'd been discussing it already, after all, and the extended visit last year was good.

I often miss the days when I cared about and would keep up with [social media resembling and including] Twitter. I feel so disconnected from people! But now we also have *multiple* busy Discord servers and Telegram channels competing for time. How does anyone ever keep up with all of this? o_o

After a long weekend spent entertaining three of my brother's kids at the parent's cottage, the chance to just lay in a *quiet* room until noon and be left alone is a special kind of luxury. I don't understand how people with kids manage. x_X

My only computer for the two months in Australia was a (newish) laptop. I got so used to it, that upon getting home, I'm not quite sure what use I even have for the desktop PC anymore. It's weird!

Even just one hour of light dancing at the FC night market rave is surprisingly exhausting!

Finally home again after the two-month excursion to Oz! It's nice to be back, but the jet-lag has been absolutely brutal. FC is starting and it barely registers. @_@

New Zealand was an awesome time! Keiko and Thorphax's LotR wedding was amazing, *everything* was beautiful. It certainly didn't feel like ten days, and we absolutely need to return and see the south island!

It's wild how anxious and panicy I get before leaving on big trips like this. ESPECIALLY now, given this is the longest trip I'll have ever done. I *know* things are fine, everything's ready and done, but still, AAAAUGH.

Just like with mastodon, I can't say I'll use this any more than I used the old site, but it can't hurt to set up an account! And it's good to lock down the user name in any case.
