Forest School Today in Forest school we made bird feeders to feed the birds during the cold weather. We used a pipe cleaner and threaded Cheerios onto it. We hung our bird feeders in the trees for the birds to find.

Y2 had an amazing morning with author illustrator duo Jon Lock and Nich Angell as they told us all about their new graphic novel ‘Tiny Hercules’. The children found out about the plot, learnt a little about how they collaborated on the book and then all had a go at drawing the main character. #r4p

The Reading Champions have spent the money from the second hand book sale on books for the library. They chose books from popular series that often disappear from the shelves as well as a couple of new titles. There was excellent teamwork and book knowledge as they made their choices 📚🐛💕

Year 2 started their maths lesson with a shape hunt! They worked hard to remember their learning from year 1 to sort the shapes into 2D and 3D 🔺🔷🔴

Today in science Year 2 learnt all about the 3 basic needs of all living things. Through DEAL they explored a desert island to find the things they needed to survive 🏝️

Today Reception found a crime scene in our outdoor area. We had to be detectives and find out how Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall. This week we will be writing about our ideas.

This morning Year 2 were investigating 2D shapes by creating them from lolly sticks. There was lots of discussion about the number of sides, how many sticks to use and how to check if they had made the right shape. Fantastic investigating!

Welcome to the Disgusting Sandwich Shop! Year 2 have had great fun creating the most disgusting sandwiches. Frogspawn? Maggots? Dirty water? All on the menu and selling out fast!

Year 2 had lots of fun playing rhythm patterns on the Djembe drums in their music lesson! 🎶🪘

Year 2 started 2026 with some potion making. We read the instructions carefully, worked as a team and showed how good we were at sharing and taking turns.

This week Year 2 have exchanged cards with the Year 2 children at our local Jewish school. We wished them a ‘Happy Hanukkah’ and they wished us a ‘Merry Christmas.’ We loved giving and receiving cards!

Jolabokaflod has arrived at school again! The children have had a wonderful time getting cosy with their blankets and cushions and reading with friends . We have ‘flooded’ our school with beautiful books and it has been a lovely calm moment in all the hustle and bustle of Christmas. Try it at home!

Santa Dash 2025

There has been lots of excitement around school as Zippety the book elf has been popping up in different classes over the last two weeks. He has brought us all a lovely Christmas book and really enjoyed lots of cuddles and stories with the children. See you again next year, Zippety! 📚💕

Thankyou to Greater Manchester Police who led an exciting session today with our mini police officers. The children learnt some more about what the police do and got first hand experience of using a range of equipment such as hand cuffs and protective clothing 👍

Today Year 1 were excited to learn all about Hanukkah and hear how Mrs Singer celebrates with her family.

Our Year 2 choir shone brightly at John Lewis today, bringing Christmas cheer to the shoppers! Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped us get there. What a fantastic experience!

A huge thankyou to the Mounted Police for visiting Year 1 & 2 today. We had a wonderful time meeting these incredibly gentle horses, learning about their work and getting a chance to pat them.What a treat!

Our children have been enjoying some peaceful reflection time in our new Peace Garden this week.

In Science, Year 2 have been trying out different types of exercises to see which parts of the body they help. Our conclusion? Taking part in lots of different activities is the best way to keep our bodies- and our minds- healthy!

World Anti Bullying week was all about having the “Power for Good”. We shared what we thought bullying was and what we could do to stop it . We also shared kind words and actions that help people feel good.

In computing year 2 have been using 2Paint a Picture to create impressionist style digital artwork 🖼️

Year 2 Eco warriors were busy at lunch time today collecting rubbish that had blown on to the school field. They used the litter-pickers and worked brilliantly together, sharing the equipment and taking turns.

Thank you to the fab Rachel Morrisroe who came to school today to share her latest picture book ‘How to Grow a Reindeer’. We loved the story, asked lots of questions and drew some amazing reindeer. So many children came away feeling inspired to write. Thanks Simply Books for arranging this for us.

Yesterday we welcomed Fr Samuel into school for our All Saints prayer service where we remembered saints throughout the ages who have dedicated their lives to God. Throughout November we will also be remembering our loved ones who have died & gone to Heaven. Thankyou Fr Samuel.
