I do like it when serendipitous things happen. When an actual play podcast does an episode on a system I'm interested in and the players are the voice actors in the audio drama the system is based on. Merely Roleplayers and The Silt Verses.

Slightly disappointed with the Welcome to Night Vale RPG. It has classes, very swingy dice rolls with meta currency mitigation and an obsessive interest in combat.

For my birthday, bought myself s book from a game designer I like. Five Parsecs: Tactics has impressive campaign, army building, narrative and solo rules. I just have an urge to edit the text to disambiguate it (it's worse than 40k at that - but then this is its first edition)

Well, that was Ironheart. See it soon just to avoid one particular spoiler. That said character development was patchy, laboured and erratic. Sorting characters were unrealistic caricatures. Tech problems were solved overnight with car parts as though that was possible.

Old Guard 2 was a disappointment. You can't continually have character moments that consist of non verbal reminiscences of being friends for thousands of years. Also spoiler - no closure.

Alright, now an even bigger fan of Jack Quaid for his geek creds. Not just for his love of Shaun of the Dead on the podcast Too Scarey Didn't Watch, but also because he does a D&D podcast called Hero Club.
