I think she would be absolutely flabbergasted. I never thought I’d make it this far. I experienced a lot of trauma, poverty, and homelessness as a child. I’m living a life now I used to fantasize about. I never thought as a child I could be beautiful and successful but I beat the odds.

I couldn’t say I was bored nor answer an adult saying what. They were strict with the verbiage around here. Then again, I also grew up in a family where if you interrupted adults talking, you got popped in the mouth for speaking out of turn so it is what it is.

I couldn’t say someone was lying, instead I had to say they were telling a story. I also couldn’t say “I don’t know”. I had to say I hadn’t learned that yet which would prompt me to go figure it out.
