I see folks hoping that Calyx will be a villain without a 'tragic story' but surely you see, what we know of him so far, his character is already very tragic. 🥺

7.3 spoilers i dont tweet much about ffxiv but this is driving me nuts. calling the locker scene homophobic or "bad gay rep" doesnt make sense when its clearly not meant to be romantic. that man was a fanatic and treated calyx as an idol. calyx could have been anything or anyone.

Calyx is only able to cook if he follows a recipe to the exact measurement, while Sphene just goes by eye and this stresses him out

I check the Calyx tag 50 times a day, I feel very normal about him

I like to headcanon that Calyx is very clean and a bit of a germaphobe (his gloves). Meatball also says things like bacteria could affect the accuracy of his experiments and stuff, which I agree with also 😌

I found it odd that Calyx is hovering just a few inches from the ground. I think it would be intriguing if it was some kind of standing/walking aid, if he might struggle to walk or travel. Simulant Sphene moves around here, and Calyx stands still, but then would that make sense for an endless
