Welp, know what I’m watching in 2027. (Granted I’ve seen the original cut of Star Wars thanks to the Despecialized Editions, but seeing it on the big screen would be something spectacular if I had the chance to do so.)

I’m rewatching Batman (1989), & I forgot how perfect the scene of Joker talking to the burnt corpse is. Highlights one of my favorite aspects of the character when done well. He’s a cartoon character who forgot everything else isn’t a cartoon, & he thinks it’s the funniest thing in the world.

Ah man 😞 I haven’t seen much of his work, but I did enjoy his presence any time he was there, like License to Kill, Balls of Fury, and, of course, Mortal Kombat as the definitive, scene-chewingly entertaining Shang Tsung. R.I.P.

Superman Returns

So I just found out that John Quinones, the artist behind the Batman 89 books, did an illustration of Riddler for Batman: Revolution (AKA Burton’s Batman 3 in novel form) with a little bit of Robin Williams’ likeness integrated in the design as he was originally considered for the role. I love it.

Remember way back when the CW put out a Batman show that had the legendary exchange: “Don’t use his deadname. Fine. I got another deadname for him: BRUCE WAYNE!”

Probably Fox, but, I’m gonna be honest, Melee passed me by even though my brother & I loved the first Smash Bros & had a GameCube growing up. By the time I did play it, my friends and I were so already entrenched with Brawl that THAT was our SSB & Melee felt lacking in comparison.
