Seeing lots of new “resonance suppression plug-ins” and I worry that they’ll sterilize music mixing in the long-term. Why do we need thousands of spectral bands *assuming* resonances are bad? We should be using our ears to determine which resonances are offensive and which aren’t.

I’m still floored by the sound design in Nosferatu. The VO, reverbs and general stylistic choices couldn’t have been better. The atmosphere is palpable and I don’t think any movie has ever immersed me more.

I finally watched Cinema Paradiso, and I haven’t been so moved by a movie in years. Seeing rural life in 1940s Italy is exactly how my family always described it to me. 10/10
