BREAKING: CofE bishops won't give their green light for 'standalone' blessing services for gay couples, or for gay priests to have civil same-sex marriages,
@thetimes.com
understands Will say both would need formal rewrite of church law Trial of blessing ceremonies can't go ahead

If episcopal ministry can be more glorious than this, I’m not sure how: it was my privilege today to ordain this fabulous cohort of 16 new priests. The Cathedral was rammed, the singing (choral & congregational) was rapturous & the sermon was hugely ‘uplifting’ — & those present will get the point.

A PRAYER walk will take place in Rotherham later this month - with a blunt warning that those taking part can expect to see “heartbreak and sights that should not exist”.

On a practical level, younger folk are often working, Dioceses do, and can provide loss of earnings when taking unpaid leave to attend Synod. Our Diocese is also happy to reimburse upfront for the likes of hotel and travel. It's still an expense, but lightens it a little.
