Alright, it's midnight 45 (ish) & I'm going to do a system restart. Played a few #boardgames in two different sets digitally with friends tonight. Here's what we ended up getting into --

I went down a Nine Inch Nails binge the last few days again, & I've been blasting it where I can as I go along my path. Through places I've been driving through & at my current residence. (Note- it's not that loud at the apartment, even if it may be in the car.) It's a mood. I'm processing.

My goodness, I'm fucking tired & can't afford to be tired. I have so much stuff I need/want to get done. This should not be like this for so many folks. The world would be better with a universal income. It should not be this exhausting for anyone just trying to maintain existence.

Had a phone call with a friend who is also a journalist. It wasn't everything entirely, but it was motivating in a way. There was shared solidarity. There was understanding. There was visibility. There are... good things & good people. Hopefully, with collective action, we can all get through it.

Unexpectedly ended up getting to play two games of Burgle Bros with a friendo tonight after playing a quartet of games irl with a different friend group. Saturday I played all day with a different group irl. I'm surrounded by #boardgamers. Everything might not be perfect, but it's mostly hecka rad.

Ok so... it's not even a week into 2026 & it's been all over the map. I feel like I've gone through so many different waves of things in the last 5 days (NYE started something) & it's legit boggling. I don't know whether I'll win the lottery or get hit by a meteor. It could go either way. It's WILD.

At a time where I'm feeling super nervous about so many things (ahem: the state of the country I live in doing several bad things), I'm thankful for the community that I've cultivated. Everything might not be ok, but it's going to be because community is the key. 🫶

Late last night/earlier this morning, I popped an edible & danced through it. Today I'm relaxing & recharging from the past few days. It's been a nice holiday for... well, things being as they are currently? I'm still so so damn tired though.

I told people today that I had a drug problem* & that they basically couldn't judge me because they did too. They all laughed, of course. [The reason: future possible employers are because this was at a board game cafe among #boardgame designers, testers, players, etc! We all have this "problem."]

My teach today was admittedly wobbly but I did it friends! I taught & ran my first game of Speakeasy! I feel like I just did a marathon. I’m excited for the next time which will hopefully be a lot better of a tour! Wow! 😅😅 #boardgames

my unpopular opinion is that #adoption is not an alternative to abortion. And it is certainly not a solution to the lack of access to safe and affordable abortions. Compelling vulnerable people to relinquish their own children by ignoring their material needs is just another way to oppress them.
