The Last of Us Part II is Good, Actually: A defence of what I believe to be one of the greatest stories ever told through the medium of videogames.

Death Stranding 2, while perhaps not as airtight as the original on a narrative front, still offers a fascinating look into the mind of Hideo Kojima, this time focusing on what it means to live in a world "post-connection."

The Last of Us Part II is one of the most groundbreaking videogames ever released, so for HBO's Season 2 to be at best, a clumsy misunderstanding of its source material, and at worst, an embarrassing corporate commodity, to call it a disappointment would be an understatement.

Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii was a huge surprise to me. Given its absurd premise and equally eccentric protagonist, I fully expected a throwaway spinoff, unrelated to the major RGG continuity. Let's just say I'm very glad to have been proven wrong here.

Monster Hunter Wilds, when taken on its own is remarkable, but in its attempt at streamlining a lot of the series' more obtuse systems, Capcom have unfortunately polished away a bit too much of the heart that makes Monster Hunter, "Monster Hunter," and to me, that's at least a little disappointing.

Avowed is... complicated... While it has some truly fantastic combat and a world that really encourages you to get lost in it, a lackluster main plot and a seriously unbalanced upgrade economy mean that, while worth your time, it might not be the "Obsidian Return-to-Form" you've been hoping for.

1000xRESIST is a complex exploration of memory, the pandemic, diaspora politics and inter-generational trauma. It is also, however, a deeply personal story about a girl named Iris, and what it means to take a leap forward.

It might look like Persona, it might quack like Persona, but I can assure you, it's definitely not Persona. What Metaphor Refantazio is, is a strikingly graceful social commentary about the nature of ideology, and my favourite RPG of this year. My review:
