I am on a mini vacation with my husband. Yesterday we went to Ashland Oregon for the day, and walked through Lithia Park. Oh my, such a beautiful place, especially with all the colors of Autumn.

Enjoying drawing new, different imagery for prints, things that inspire me, ideas I have had in my head for a long time. I love viney trailing leaves and the image of the hand. Hands are so important to us. Even more now given my two recent hand injuries. Today’s task, finish carving. #linocut

This is an image that I am redoing from a print I made at the very beginning of my linocut journey I wanted to simplify the image, and add a bit more detail. And my printing skills are so much better now, after eight years. I know I can do better with my kitty angel. . . . #linocut #catart

Testing out a few more leaf stamps. The stamps are my own design, carved into Speedy Carve by Speedball, and the inks I am testing on my fabric are Caligo Safewash inks. So the plan for all of these stamps that I am carving is to create some products for winter, tote bags, aprons, tea towels.

Finished carving my fern leaf stamp on Friday, and got to roll out some ink and test it on fabric yesterday. It printed up nicely. I purchased some colors of Speedball’s fabric block printing ink. That just came in yesterday. Looking forward to trying them out soon. #blockprinting

Transferring a design to Speedy Carve. This is my next rubber stamp. I’m using Speedy Carve block material and a bone folder, you could use the back of a spoon. I like to do my drawings on tracing paper. I used a soft lead pencil, flipped my drawing over onto the block, and rub. #printmaking

Spent Saturday afternoon hanging my art show at the @redwoodartassociation, in upstairs gallery #3. I’m really pleased with how it all turned out. There are 18 linocut prints, and 2 mixed media collages. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5pm. 😊

Yesterday’s printing went well. For this two color print, I decided to print the flowers first, and next week I will print the cat. Oh, I’m looking forward to seeing the cat. He has some out stretched front paws that I think are going to look really awesome. 😅🐈‍⬛ #linocut #printmaking

It’s a kitty puzzle! Actually this is my carved block for my next linocut print. This took a lot of time to carve apart. Now I’m ready to start printing today. It will be a two color print. This block material is Japanese vinyl. I cut it apart using an Xacto knife, #2 knife with the #2 blade.
