#WeekendSingles I spent 6 hours in Vinyl Tap’s bargain basement on Friday. It’s why I struggled to sleep last night cos of my neck pain. Stupid timing too, as I have my annual neurologist review tomorrow. But among the [amount redacted] records that came home with me was this, a square record!

#WeekendSingles After yesterday’s singing actors, here’s some acting singers. 3 of these even won Oscars, Frank Sinatra, Cher & Prince. But did you know Jim Dale once got an Oscar Nomination? It was for writing the song Georgy Girl. Look at the alt text, where I’ve deciphered the blurry names.

#WeekendSingles More Vinyl Tap bargain basement singles. I was particularly pleased to come across the GRIMMS single, although it’s not a great song. I’ve just never seen one of their records before. And the B Side to All I Really Want To Do is Feel a Whole Lot Better. What a fab piece of vinyl!

#WeekendSingles I took photos of all the singles I have just for their sleeves, so I can check the photo whenever I’m in a record shop, to (hopefully) stop me buying another one of the same sleeve. The singles in these sleeves range from rubbish to absolute rubbish! Some nice sleeves though.

A single 56 minute track, making great use of the CD format. Might not make my top 5, as there are loads of great albums in this period, but worth recommending

#5debutalbums8589 I started 85 aged 15 and doing my O levels in Barnsley and ended 89 as a 20 year old 2nd year student nurse in Liverpool. So these were the years where LPs became more important than singles. Loads of the debut albums I bought during this period remain absolute favourites today.

#WeekndSingles This is too good to wait for 12” Tuesday! The bloke on Barnsley market was using a copy of this 12” sleeve as a place marker in his racks, so I told him it was a waste of a good sleeve. But he said he had plenty more and gave me this record. The record’s okay, but the sleeve is fab!
