#5debutalbums0004 So many great rap debuts in the early 00s. Not many as inventive as this one. 2 MCs - Phonte & Rapper Big Pooh, and a superstar DJ in 9th Wonder made up Little Brother and this is their debut, The Listening. The follow up, The Minstrel Show, is just as good.

#5debutalbums0004 As a long-time fan of Sophie, her refound fame is a mixed blessing. It’s great that she’s doing so well and her music is reaching a much bigger audience, including America, but whereas her concerts used to be fab intimate small venue affairs, they now resemble office Xmas parties!

#5debutalbums0004 Deltron3030 are a hip hop supergroup, featuring Del the Funky Homosapien, Dan the Automator & Kid Koala. Their debut also has input from Damon Albarn. If you like Gorillaz you’ll probably like this self-titled rap/sci-fi concept album, set a millennium in the future.

#5albums50s60sfinal I have a wide taste in music. I know everyone says that, but I really have, honest. I have about 7000 albums on vinyl and CD, every genre (except hair metal, I draw a line there). But if I am honest with my selections for the final it is going to look like I like only 2 artists!

#WeekendSingles Just bought a fab book, all about company 7” sleeves. Quite forensic in its approach, not only showing all the different designs, but also all the minor variations, with info about each label. Jimmy, you need one of the blue London sleeves. I’m gonna be using it as a checklist!

Been a fan of @mrhollyjohnson.bsky.social for over 40 years, but have never seen him perform live, so was thrilled to get a great seat for the gig in Sheffield tonight. Was sorting out my train ticket and had a look to see what time the doors open…6:30…yesterday!! Guess the wait to see him goes on!

#WeekendSingles I regularly scour the bargain bins in the in town. Not only for cheap singles, but mainly for sleeves, as me and Jimmy are trying to get all our singles into their proper company sleeves. I’m leaving this single in this sleeve though, as someone has taken the trouble to design one!
