The White House has been caught. The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims. In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

#WeekendSingles I don’t have any Christmas singles, but I bought this picture disc a few weeks ago. Funny, isn’t it, that Gary Glitter’s Christmas single got pulled years ago due to his awful crimes. Phil Spector’s record doesn’t appear to have suffered, despite him murdering a woman.

#5albums25 Dog Eared by the fabulous Yorkshire folk-popster Billie Marten. She’s yet to make an album that’s less than fantastic. This will be one of my top 5. Me and Jimmy V were unlucky that the gig of hers in Leeds that we were going to was on a night where the flooding stopped us getting there

#WeekendSingles #12inchTuesday Sodding heck. I remembered it was Tuesday when I was at the cinema, watching a rubbish rom-com that my daughter wanted to see. So a bit later than planned, here’s part 3 of my 80s theme, 20 favourite 80s 12” Singles. Well, sort of favourites anyway.

#weekendsingles 16 favourite 80s B-Sides, the names of which are in the alt. text. I had to use the 12” for some of them, because the one by The Dream Academy is only on the 12”. It’s a superior version (according to me!) of one of their best album tracks.

I’m doing this project where I’m ranking every album I have on CD, Vinyl or MP3 for each year. I originally thought it would take 2-3 years. I started in 2016! Problem is, I keep exploring new genres and adding to it. I’m making headway now though and I’m currently on 1998. Any favourites here?

#WeekendSingles When we were young my mum used to get us the KTel compilation every Xmas. I picked this up for 99p the other day, purely out of nostalgia. Some absolute classic songs and some absolutely horrible ones. This is why David Soul’s Silver Lady has always been one of my favourite songs.

#WeekendSingles Dead 80s pop stars part 2 Honestly, there’s loads of them. Watching a 1980s TOTP is like watching the obituary reel at the Oscars. By my reckoning, the deadliest 80s hit is You’ll Never Walk Alone by The Crowd. I counted at least 25 of the participants who’ve popped their clogs.

#5debutalbums0004 Sage Francis has made some great albums and mixtapes, but my favourite of his is his collaboration with Joe Beats, under the name Non-Prophets, and their album Hope. One of the very best underground hip hop albums.
