My gut tells me this is the cat who broke into my English muffins. Call it a hunch. A suspicion, if you will. Everyone here in the cat-only vet's waiting room looks slightly sheepish as they clutch carriers on their laps and prop their phones, while low, sad, mer-ows emerge at random intervals. Meanwhile, Winston curls up, drugged, as the vet requested that our usually friendly boy be sedated for his exam.

1st "walk" since broken toe 3 weeks ago. Distance covered: .65 miles, mostly in shaded woods Nature: here's 3 mosquito bites, a dead indigo bunting, and a swollen foot. Better check for ticks, mf! Me (weeping): what just happened?
