A friend gave me a scarf in progress. I couldn’t finish it because she knits tight and I knit loose. So I took it out and went up several needle sizes and made a drapey cowl instead. 🧶

Low-rise jeans have to be styled differently. There are many groups who have worn them stylishly in the past, so you have to find the original images to understand their cultural language. Those groups don't include people who wear classically cut sport coats.

My goal is to keep spinning even tho TdF is over. I have this goal each year. I enjoy spinning. But somehow moving the wheel into position seems to be a step too far. Fingers crossed this is my year to keep the habit going. 🧶

Some words go together like jelly and peanut butter… wait, that sounds super weird. A pair of words that is used in a fixed order in an idiomatic expression is called an ‘irreversible binomial.’ ‘Peanut butter and jelly’ is an example of an irreversible binomial. 🧵⬇️

Spent a bit of time picking some adorable baby hat patterns to knit for a pregnant friend. Next I get to look for yarn to match the pattern. All that fun before making the actual cute thing. I love knitting. And prepping for knitting. Just not the sewing up after doing the knitting part…

Happy Wimbledon Day!

It has just taken me either 4 weeks or 15 minutes to sew on the 4 buttons to finish this baby gift. The shower isn’t for another 5 and a half hours so I am pleased I managed to get it done so early… 🧶 Vintage pattern brought to America in 1979 by my mother from when she worked in a yarn shop.

TdF today. I did just the fleece. I don’t have time for the time trials, especially when I saw the results. So I did some spinning to Wimbledon. 🧶

It’s TdF time!! We love to watch the Tour de France together. And I do some spinning on my wheel for Tour de Fleece. I am still very much a beginner. But I enjoy it.

Tin Can Knit’s grain shawl in Wicked Knittah Coral Isle dk merino. So pretty. So easy. Just starting my second 231 yard ball. 🧶

I almost met my goal. I just had 4 ends to sew in today. This is Lala’s Simple Shawl made in Wicked Knittah’s galactic dk merino wool.

I started with 450+ yards of yarn and finished my shawl with just this leftover. Whew. 🧶

I have been working on this shawl for myself for a while. My birthday weekend is almost here and I think it is totally fair for me to expect to be gifted enough time to sit and knit and finish it. Especially with it being an F1 weekend!
