In Ireland I was in the ER when a man was brought in who had walked into a cow. I had to ask. Apparently, men drink and then they walk home, they cut across a field in the dark, and they literally run into a cow. It wakes up, is startled, and kicks them. Some injuries are very serious.

The announcement just came out about the ofc Christmas party. Can I just not go? Would anyone care?

Also for some reason, I seem to have a built in bias against seeing a gynecologist. Like why would I need THAT? This may even be a past life thing. I'm pretty sure I have never once gone around as a woman before.

For the record, my favorite Stephen King book is Duma Key. It is not one of his better known works. But it is about art, and life, and about how sometimes the only way to win against evil is to be achingly, vulnerably human. And yes, it is scary, but also deeply moving.

So there was a strange colored pill in with one of my prescriptions. I took the bottle back to the pharmacy. The pill turned out to be the right medication, but made by a different manufacturer. In a sealed bottle. From the manufacturer. I'm baffled.

So my mom's sister has a live in caregiver. Last week the caregiver was arrested for failure to appear in court on a drug possession charge. She was released on bail after 3 days. My aunt appeared at her bail hearing as a character witness and apparently also wrote a letter to the judge. 1

For my dad, the first noticeable symptom of Alzheimers was that his filter broke. He suddenly started bringing up wildly inappropriate topics and said some colorful stuff. That was about 3 years before his formal diagnosis.

Cricket the Cat has figured out the snooze alarm. It rings and she immediately snuggles in on my chest, knowing I won't move for about 10 minutes.

1500 meters tonight, and I'm not sure I'm going to need sunscreen much longer.

So guys, my brain is lying to me about a thing. It's telling me that terrible things are gonna happen and I will end up dead or destitute or both. Of course we can't know for sure. Always in motion is the future. But it seems unlikely from a logical standpoint. 1

I am not sure how to keep my glasses clean except maybe clean them every five minutes until the end of recorded time.

One of those guys who call and randomly offer to buy your house called me Friday. I said, "Oh, I don't know about that. You'd have to talk to the trustees." They had plainly never heard that one before because the guy started stammering and stuttering.

So I woke up in the middle of a sex dream the other night and there was a vibrator like right there, so I'm like, "Let's just finish this up." Then went back to sleep. Woke up later for real and there was no vibrator to be found. So did all that happen, or not?

The attorney who walks in here wearing shorts? He's on a Zoom call right now and he's folding laundry on camera. I have counted SIX pairs of shorts. None of them Bermuda.

I am sitting out in the sun in 85 degree heat with a jacket on trying to thaw out because it's that cold in my ofc.

Whose brilliant idea was it to drive through the most Muslim part of Richardson, Texas, just after sunset on a Friday?! Oh right. Mine.

My office is in temporary quarters and there's been some kind of mix-up as far as janitorial services. Meaning we don't have any. There are about a dozen overflowing wastebaskets aound here in various states of gross. I'm thinking of the planet for some reason.

At one point, I bought an ill advised cat toy. It looked like a giant bug and roved around on its own. Unfortunately, it looked so much like a giant bug that it triggered the giant bug revulsion in my lizard brain and I couldn't bring myself to pick it up and turn it back off.

On Friday afternoon, all around the same time, no less than five District Court ECFs went down. Different parts of the country, too. Apart from the court announcements that they were down, I did not hear anything about it. I wonder if it was a test run for something.

So my ofc moved to temporary space because the permanent space build out is not ready yet. I've been past the permanent space a few times this morning and there is NOTHING GOING ON. There isn't even anybody there. This worries me a little.

So I saw a documentary about this and now I cant stop wondering what everybody does with the leftover boxes and plastic waste from Amazon.

Yesterday I filmed this thunderstorm as it rolled in to cancel my swim.

Do you ever have GPS on and it tells you to make some impossible turn and you say, "What? No! Fuck you!"

So I had breakfast and I was having a slow draggy morning and thot that if my blood sugar wasn't too bad I'd just skip the treadmill this morning. Blood sugar was 242. Ran over to the treadmill. 180 and dropping now. Another scary alarm averted. Whew.

Things I'm still wondering about: - If trickle down economics never worked, why do they keep reinventing it? -Why did they use "London Calling" for the London Olympics, when the song is about how much it sucks to live in London after the apocalypse? 1
