I want to live in a cottage with a cat but my cat allergies get worse everyday 😭 Some more work today with colours, plus generally getting forms and perspectives + close ups of my favourite little doodles

Today was a busy day! I only had a bit of time to practice and ended up playing with the new gel Sanrio gel pens that my partner just got me - really fun way to practice landscape / perspectives quickly 😊

Working on keeping my whites white without any gouache usage today - and pulled out my sparkly watercolours to try and make these glittery but it only shows under very specific lighting 😅 I love pretty and tasty beverages!

Going over a watercolour painting with loose lines is always so fun! 🤭 Really wanted the fish bowl to be the focal point for this one

Worked on blending and not overworking the paper with watercolour today! I love every type of breakfast but Singaporean breakfast foods might be my favourite 🤭

I love how hydrangeas look in the winter with the mixing of brown and pink. Practicing blending in Procreate :)

This would’ve probably been way easier with gouache but it was super fun to try and get watercolour to behave!

Applying some of the practice I’ve been doing in seeing values in landscapes and tried to recreate my favourite thing in baroque era art, finding the cutest dogs and cows in landscapes 🫣

A major improvement to my hydrangea situation thanks to a tutorial by alrdesigns on TikTok 🤣🌸 This was fun to paint!

Working on getting one perspective right… and tomorrow I’m definitely following a hydrangea painting tutorial because trying to figure it out on my own is taking way too long 🤣

! This Monet study almost killed me lowkey but it was lots of fun! I gave up on all the little details halfway through to try and focus on the colour and shading 🫡

This was a fun study! It might be basic but Monet’s nymphéas series is my absolute favourite 🥹 Favourite travel experience was definitely sitting at the centre of the giant nymphéas paintings at the Musée de l’Orangerie

Is it obvious that I had so much fun making the mountains and the sky in this landscape and hated the process of painting the field? 🤣

I really prefer fuyu persimmons compared to hachiya, the tastiest crunch ever 🥹 I couldn’t decide what to put in the top background and ended up with these sketchy trees and birds …

Still struggling with landscapes 🍄 But! There’s definitely improvement over the past few days. Composition and getting depth without everything muddying up is currently the hardest part for me 🫣

Cats are such precious babies! I love them so much. And getting that sleepy content expression right was a fun process. Tomorrow I’ll focus on drawing flowers with pastels… this is getting a bit embarrassing 😂

The weather’s getting cold so I keep wanting to draw warm scenes reminiscent of summer, tried underpainting with yellow and focused on getting the gentleness of the ripples of water right for this one

Watched a bunch of colour theory videos and tried to apply the learnings with these still lifes. Next I need to figure out shadows! Pears are one of my favourite fruits; there’s so much variety in their flavour and texture but the underlying ‘pear’-ness is my favourite part!

Grinding at work feels like the vibes from the old man and the sea. A lot of effort towards hopefully positive outcomes. I tried to juxtapose darker clouds that appear large until you look up towards the bright sky and flowers ahead. I definitely overworked the pastels though
