During my #research I found out that porcupines are also ingesting #plastic, their feces contained a median of 2.1 #microplastics /gram. Because of the sodium deficiency in their diet they gnaw on objects like plywood resin, rubber smeared with sweat or salt, etc. #pollution #wildlife #HongKong

I just noticed that a word I learned during my first lessons of Mandarin when I was in Peru, mamahuhu馬馬虎虎， I actually have not used it while living in Taiwan. I use 還好 instead. I wonder what else is in those books that I don't use often in daily life.

From food wrappers to polyester fibers, everyday #plastics are easily ingested by wildlife living near us. We measured microplastics in feces from feral cattle, water buffalo, boars, macaques, and porcupines in Hong Kong’s peri-urban areas. 85% of samples contained microplastics 😟.
