Had my work cut out for me on this door. Lower edge had a gross bend in it, there was a dent that was just ground out and filled, and the sealant from the vapor shield was extremely tough to clean up. Most of the dents are sorted now, and now I gotta clean up the rest of the door!

Got the left side jamb sorted, pretty happy with it. Also got the outside of the left door cleaned off so I could see what I was working with, there's a few trouble areas in there.

Pizza break

Reinforcement is welded in with its captive nut, and it's nice and smooth! Just gotta do the other side the same now.

Very slow start today. But dog time is underway! Making reinforcement plates with some captive nuts for the door checks, to be followed up by filling in and smoothing the weird hole left by the old strap.

Finally spent some time, and got the R35 door checks fitted on the car! Works great, just need to add a bit to the rubber end stop since this door doesn't open as far.

Garage is much tidier, so I can finally get to work on this thing again. Never enough time though!

Heck these brakes are thick. And I think there's even a size up from these! Gotta say though, I like the color :3 not that I'm biased or anything.. Also got some winter meats on!

Went to pick up some winter wheels for the new car, thought about the fact that I never go look at the riverbank despite being so close all the time. A little frosty today 🐶❄️

Sometimes you just find things Not really sure what I'd do with it, but I always found the case design to be pretty cool.

Always liked to learn how things work, taking apart all sorts of mechanical and electronic things. Sold parts for a long while and then eventually, my hobbies led to a job offer for the trade I'm in now, haha! Maybe it doesn't directly check boxes, but it certainly feeds some of my curiosities!

Fished my other tribars out for reasons.. also very much forgot that I had two Corvette wheels, haha!

Put some tunes on and spent some time in the kitchen today to try and chill out. Made 2.6kg of macaroni and cheese because I am terrible at judging portions And a plethora of cookies in a few other flavors to see what would happen 🐶🎶

Noctua fans have such excessively fancy packaging! Still need to close off the sides to ensure fresh air only. Also added thumb pockets so I can pull out the fan and flip it if so desired to change it from intake to exhaust. Also needs more teefs I think.

Also first time in a long time that I've had all the panels on one side of the car at once.. It's clear I have some additional fit up work to do, haha!

Pro tip: wait until /after/ you prime the body to change the door check straps to something else entirely 🐶 (I can touch up the primer no issue, but it still feels silly to have left this until now)

Sorry for all the photo dumping, I'll settle down for now! Got training tomorrow and the day after, then back home. It was very cool to have a couple days to explore. Will have to come back some time for sure! Honestly, I didn't even mind that it rained the whole time. I think it made it better!

Had to get a large pretzel from the street vendor, not bold enough to spring for the hot dog. Aside from catching the wrong train at first, a near direct line to the hotel which was nice!

Rode the subway more today (definitely cool since we don't have this back home) and saw a little bit of central park!

Saw some more cool older architecture today, also some fun sculptures! I'm not biased I swear :3

I think we could be here free to roam a whole week and still not see everything. For today though, my legs are tired! Haha

Lots of really cool architecture all over, even though it was raining all afternoon it was still a lot of cool sights to see!
