More sewing for dolls ! It’s incredible how many shirts one kid t-shirt can make! Also really please to find good flannel at a dollar store bin. Made some blankets and pillows for a little kid and their plush XD .

Ah I forgot to add part one of the High Museum exhibit which featured Ryoji Ikeda’s Dataverse . He also scored the soundscape inside the exhibit. Be careful as there’s strobing light in the opening of this montage of this and other exhibits which included American folk art.

K-pop culture has also increased awareness of Korean art. Went to the High Museum yesterday for an exhibit of Kim ChongHak’s works . Beautifully vibrant, aware of the past, and determined to show Korean work as colorful and passionate. In all my years of going to US museums, this was a highlight.

ffxiv and Honkai both had livestreams today . Summarizing ffxiv one as “hats” and “Early August” . And HSR as “Phainon gimme” in less than two weeks. The story in HSR is honestly really good. As for the wrap up for FFXIV DT I guess we will have to see.

A few Fridays ago, went to pick lavender which is in season in June . Saw many dahlias which to me are new as a native midwesterner. One of the upsides of this weird situation I am in - is being able to go do something like this last minute . The lavender is now dried and turned into sachets.

Been slowly unfollowing all current events/news posts and putting them in a list to be pinned on my Sky account just so I can focus down more quickly on people I actually know on my "only posts" tab. I was finding myself just not tuning in at all on sky because it's starting to feel less relevant.

The labubus need clothes . So I have forced myself to relearn how to use a machine after 30plus years or more. After I play around with this a few more days I’ll get back to writing / editing and reading a backlog of books .

My soon to be former coworker opened a family restaurant earlier in the year . And finally got to eat there for lunch . It was really good. Hoping for good business for them given our pending layoffs. Just watching how neighbors are finding their way there and bringing others is so motivating !

on a creative note - this month of being in a holding pattern means I will have time to review and edit the last book i had serialized and finish the notquite ending . i want to probably start the next book in such a way i can bring on a new audience . i’m not quite sure whether it will serialize

Well I have done it . Applied to school . Now waiting on letters of recommendations to get in and then a decision in June. I’m probably too poor to apply to other programs here. If I don’t get in I have other plans forming . Meme doggy can go to hell . I will figure this out.

It's times like these that I find Bluesky jarring. Right now it's my main method to keep up with real news which is heavily censored or ignored by other social media platforms. But legacy-wise I follow the ffxiv fandom which is very apolitical for some reason but will wage war for character ships.

Extremely grateful to have Bluesky right now and that media has made its way here. Glad to see there are still voices who are speaking up.
