‪#SundayStonework The Cathedral Church of the Holy and Indivisible Trinity, Gloucester. The finest of the 'Three Choirs' cathedrals, a grand Norman abbey church with major additions in the 14th century, which include the earliest examples anywhere of the Perpendicular style.

#SundayStonework St Bueno and St Peter, Llanveynoe. Still a place of Christian worship, something that has been practised here since the 6th century, as confirmed by the ancient cross in the churchyard, the primitive carvings within and the ancient but healthy yew trees.

Labour latest : After the phoney economist, make believe solicitor, corrupt anti-corruption minister and homeless preventer who evicts folk, we now have 'Dr' Ann Limb, a fake PhD/MA linguist ennobled by Starmer and admitted to the House of Lords...

'Legend' is much overused, but it's hardly adequate to describe the late Colin Addison, the 'gaffer' whose lads saw off Supermac and mighty Newcastle United in the FA Cup and put Hereford (and Motty) on the football map back in 1972. RIP great man and thank you.

#SteepleSaturday St Mary, Stanford on Teme. A parish church doubling as an 18th century ornament in Sir Edward Winnington's parkland. The architect was James Rose and the building dates from 1768-9. Sir Edward's lake at nearby Stanford Court covers the site of the original church.

#SteepleSaturday The enormous Holy Trinity, Hull (now Hull Minster). The tower of 1500, the brick and stone chancel of 1320-60. Much intervention/restoration by Lockwood 1841-45, and then by Scott 1859-72. Seen here in 2005.

#SteepleSaturday St Mary, Beverley. The tower rebuilt after spectacular collapse in 1520. Western turrets by Myers to designs by Pugin 1844-52. Original turrets survive, one in a garden at Woodmansey, the other on Council property in Beverley.

#AdoorableThursday Beverley Minster, North transept portal. A sumptuous piece dating from no later than 1260. Woodwork by William Thornton of York, under the supervision of Nicholas Haksmoor.

#Woodensday A visit to the magnificent St Mary, Ripple is so worthwhile. The icing on the cake, however, is the wonderful set of misericords showing the Labours of the Months and the Sun and Moon. The church is justly proud of them and displays them well.

#TilesOnTuesday From a small factory in the Herefordshire village of Lugwardine, William and Henry Godwin produced encaustic tiles which adorn cathedrals and churches all over the former British Empire and beyond, including their own parish church of St Peter.

#SteepleSaturday All Saints, Selsley. Bodley masterpiece for Samuel Stephens Marling in spectacular setting. Epic stained glass inside by Morris and all of the boys in the band. Philip Webb kept them all under control.

#FontsonFriday St Mary, Cusop. Early Norman font in the parish church of Hay on Wye poisoner Herbert Rouse Armstrong, who lived a few yards from the church.

#FontsonFriday St Meilig, Llowes. The 13th century font, patched up with two iron bands by a 1950s blacksmith and returned to the church after many years in the nearby garden at Brynyrhydd, the home of Colonel Beavan.

#SteepleSaturday St Peter & St Paul, Uplyme, East Devon. 'Largely of the early 19th century and of 1875', says Pevsner. The tower is medieval, however. Many a blissful holiday here, a mile or two from Lyme Regis...

#SteepleSaturday St Michael, Dewsall. At the end of a long lane with the Court as a neighbour and dating from the 14th century, with restoration by F.R. Kempson in 1868. The spire was restored in 1923 by John Nicholson. On the Duchy of Cornwall estate, on a glorious early May evening.

#AdoorableThursday St Mary, Pembridge. Two 14th century doors with contemporary ironwork. The North door and the plainer West door, which still shows the damage inflicted by Parliamentarian forces in 1645.

#Woodensday St Mary's, King's Pyon. Nave and South transept roof, very early 14th century.

Recent minor vandalism at the font in St Mary's, King's Pyon has resulted in increased security. The poor old 1380 lion's hearing isn't what is was - he is tucked away in the South transept and didn't hear a thing. His new mate now looks after that end of the building.

#AdoorableThursday St Giles, Acton Beauchamp. 9th century cross shaft, reused as a door lintel. 'An Anglo-Saxon minster, dependent on Worcester, probably founded here in c. 727'. Now mainly of 1816-19 in a beautifully remote setting.

#SteepleSaturday St Mary, Bramall Lane, Sheffield. A grand Commissioner's church dating from 1830. Severely damaged by bombing in 1940, it now has a new life as a multi-purpose conference centre/church.

Hereford Cathedral : Stained Glass by the Victorian Premier League. North Transept by Hardman, 1864 in a late 13thc window 'marvellously tall'. South Transept Te Deum by Kempe 1894-5 in a window of c. 1400. Kempe's largest single window. 'Parochial' says NP.

#Woodensday St Mary, Hopesay, Shropshire. The nave roof, a fine work from the early 15th century.

#StainedGlassSunday St Lawrence, Lechlade. Yorkist fragments, 'Colourful' Mayer & Co, 1876, 'Excellent' Heaton, Butler & Bayne 1882, A.K. Nicholson (designer G.E.R. Smith) 1932.

#steeplesaturday St Mary, Stratfield Mortimer, West Berkshire. No expense was spared in rebuilding this church in 1869. The architect was Richard Armstrong, who clearly knew what he was doing.

#SteepleSaturday St Peter & St Paul, Howden. The magnificent tower, 135 feet tall. Started by master builder Bishop Skirlaw and incomplete at his death in 1406, the tower dominates the East Riding flatlands and can be seen for miles in any direction, just as the good Bishop intended.

#FontsonFriday St Lawrence, Lechlade. The 15th century font. The bowl is original but the base dates from Frederick Waller's restoration of 1881-2.

#StainedGlassSunday Hereford Cathedral South transept, the magnificent South window. Kempe's largest window, a triumph by John Carter of 1894-5. Curiously Pevsner thought it 'parochial'. His breakfast boiled egg must have been hard and cold that day.

#SteepleSaturday Yate, South Glos. The fine tower of St Mary's, dating from around 1500. It was sensitively restored by W.D. Caroe in 1897-1900. Caroe also provided the lychgate in 1920.
