Back to the pottery studio today after 2.5 weeks away. I had wrapped the cups I threw SUPER well, so they had not dried out and I WAS able to trim them. Yay! Then I threw three more, and my teacher was very pleased with my progress. One of them might - finally - be 24oz after firing. 🤞 #PotterySky

I had to raise the light another two inches. The plants are on the verge of outgrowing their pots, and they are definitely root bound already - there are roots going into the irrigation pad. It snowed here today. I can't plant them outside yet, or even start hardening off. Argh! #GardenSky

Today's plant update: tomatoes have been thinned to 1 seedling per pot. Peppers are mostly sprouted and taking their own sweet time about making a second set of leaves. Basil and onions are going gangbusters. 4 sages sprouted in a single pot; none of the others did anything, so I've divided them.

The peas are in. It was barely above freezing today, all day, with a disgusting wintery mix pelting down, but I got the peas in.

:gleeful gardening cackle: On Tuesday, it was 78F here. Now it's 30F. March is marching onwards and leaving muddy pawprints in its wake. But I have sprouted tomatoes! (Nothing from the hot peppers yet.) And my onion seeds have put up tiny threadlike sprouts. Go onions!

I am unbelievably tired today and I have zero idea why. Just. Exhaustion all over. Even tea hasn't made a dent in it.

Today's lesson learned from the kiln: If glaze sticks to the wax at all, wash it off, or it will still be there in your final piece. I'm still plenty happy with these!

The feeling when you have planted all the seeds you can start now, and you have to wait another few weeks to start the rest or they'll be ready to plant before last frost and everyone will be sad.

This morning, I played with mud. This evening, I played with mud. Different muds though. 😆 (The mug came first.)

I had a good day in the pottery studio, even if the clay was very stiff (I think it was dry? It felt dry) and hard to work with. I still managed to throw a cup, and more importantly, I managed to trim the cups I threw last week, and underglaze and carve them. The people they are for are enthused.

It's snowing again. I went through the fridge last night and found last year's seeds from where I shoved them to save for this spring, in case things sold out. (And because I'm bad at throwing out garden stuff.) But I have seeds on order so I probably shouldn't plant these, right? But *snow*... 😅

I have no seeds and I must plant.

I have ~20 hours to be self indulgent before I have to go back to cosplaying a responsible adult. Pizza: check Dessert fixings: check Beer: doesn't play well with the current meds, bah, ok, faux beer it is Excellent book: check Comfy couch: check Let's do this thing!
