Shabbat shalom! We made it. May those ill feel better, may those in transition feel stability, and may those fighting for their freedom remain safe. Special prayers for my son, who just got his driver’s licenses. 😮 Shabbat shalom!

Shabbat shalom! This first Shabbat of 2026, I’m keeping in mind people with personal connections to cancer. I panic every time I get any test results! I am also davening for people taking life changing exams and those whose hearts seem ever-broken. May we each be healthy and whole.

Shabbat shalom! It’s been a long, festive week, and we made it! When I daven for Shabbat, I will be holding in my heart those seeking their purpose, those who have lost their way, and any who are imprisoned by their own minds. We each merit peace.

#Shabbatshalom! Happy Chanukah! It has been a difficult week, but we are still here. Tonight, I am davening for the abundant light from our candles to illuminate the lives and souls of all around us, and permeate all darkness. May all those in need of healing and peace experience both.

#Shabbatshalom! When I light candles later, it will be with immense gratitude for beloved colleagues. I’ll keep in minds those judged unfairly for how they look, those whose bodies don’t quite keep up with their energetic souls, and those facing impending loss. Wishing each of us peace.

#Shabbatshalom! May we each be blessed with health, fortitude, humor, joy and love. We are each a wondrous work of art, and should be treated as such.

Shabbat shalom! This #Shabbat, my heart is holding those whose minds go to the worst places, people feeling uncomfortable on their own skin, and all those whose hearts are heavy with worry. #Shabbatshalom!

I’m a cancer survivor. I worry about every little twinge and pain. I don’t know if it will come back, so I pray it won’t. A friend and former colleague is fighting bravely now. So, this #Shabbat, in addition to praying for peace, I pray for healing for those who need it. F cancer. #shabbatshalom

I welcomed #shabbat at work with fabulous engagement colleagues, a beloved “intern”, and a bunch of new students and come early returners. We prayed for a calm year for our students, our Bruin community and the world. May we each have what we need. #shabbatahalom

So many people are experiencing high levels of stress bec of issues which may not even affect them personally. May this #Shabbat bring calm, comfort, understanding and peace. שבת שלום🙏💜

ICE has fatally shot an Illinois resident close to a school. Schools must be safe zones; ICE should not be creating this fear for our kids and families and communities- I join the IFT in calling for a full accounting

When I light #shabbat candles, I’ll be Davening for folks who miss their moms (me), folks who’ve been victimized by scammers, and those whose hearts are broken because of misplaced trust/love. #ShabbatShalom! 💜

Jews have been exiled from so ✝️ & ☪️ countries throughout history simply for being ✡️(not being ✝️ & not being ☪️). All ethnicities, nationalities, religions & genders are welcome in 🇮🇱. When most countries didn't allow women to vote, 🇮🇱 always has. That's a big failure if the goal is apartheid

Those of us whose moms are gone, or who had difficult relationships with them or who have been unable to be the moms they’d hoped - today is still Sunday. Please do something good for yourselves. 💜🙏

When I light #shabbat candles tonight, I’ll again be with the Bruin community at our vibrant Hillel. I’ll have in mind folks nervous about their future, people feeling alone even in community, and those who need an extra bit of love and strength. I send mine freely. #shabbatshalom!

Last night, we observed #YomHashoah at an event we hosted at work, and today, in the same room, rid of our chairs and projector, I donated blood. That we engaged in something that gives life in the same space as we mourned deaths is a beautiful snapshot of how life works.

When I light candles for #shabbat and Yom tov, I will do so in community with Bruin students and others. What a joy! I’ll be thinking of those dealing with medical issues, any feeling unwelcome where they love, and all those struggling to be themselves. May this Holy Week bring peace.
