Dutch-ringed Sandwich Tern r-H97 at Meikle Craigs, Troon today. Ringed on Slijkplaat, Haringvliet in May 2024, and seen on the Platier d'Oye reserve, northern France in July 2024. #ringreading

A second ringed Kittiwake at Troon harbour last weekend, this one ringed on Inchkeith as an adult in 2009. Likely to have crossed overland from the Forth to the Clyde on its way to winter in the north Atlantic #ringreading

Icelandic-ringed Oystercatcher at Barassie, Troon this morning. Ringed in Önundarfjörður in the West Fjords in 2014, this is my first sighting of this one since 2020 at the same location #ringreading

German-ringed Med Gull at Meikle Craigs, Troon this morning. Ringed in Leipzig in June 2022, my first sighting of it since 2023. A bird that also turns up at West Wemyss. One of 41 Meds present, but the only colour ringed bird #ringreading

Decent numbers of Common Gulls hatched with a number of adults still on nests at a site in South Lanarkshire yesterday #clydebirding

A check of South Lanarkshire gull colonies yesterday came up with two birds ringed in 2020 as chicks in an apparently now abandoned colony in the Moorfoots. First sighting away from there of 2BTB and first sighting of 2XHT since a report in Brittany in 2022.

A non-birding holiday to beautiful Lithuania still provided some good birds like this Wood Sandpiper in Kaunas, and nice to see a young Fieldfare being fed by a parent.

Finnish-ringed BHG at Castle Semple Loch today. My first sighting of this one for two winters. Ringed as a chick in 2009 in Kanta-Häme region, it's now in its 17th calendar year #clydebirding

Iceland Gull in Troon harbour this morning.

Swedish-ringed Common Gull in Barshaw Park, Paisley from last weekend. Ringed as an adult near Gothenburg in July 2022 after rehab. Nice to see it healthy and here after that.

Two returning ringed Black-headed Gulls on the ice yesterday, examples of a number which move north to the Glasgow area to winter: 2J79 from Essex (first seen 2017) and metal only EA15232 from Flintshire (first seen 2020).

Returning Polish BHG at Hogganfield today. Ringed in Świnoujście as an adult in 2019, it's visited Glasgow for the past five winters (at least).
