I was lucky enough to see David Hockney’s art retrospective at the Louis Vuitton foundation in Paris last year. His joy of painting what he love to paint vibrated through each work of art. His choice of vibrant colours and bold mark making stands uniquely on its own.Rest in peace David Hockney.

Day 3 #100dayproject. A quick painting of poppies. Done with watercolour and inks. Mixing the 2 can be very rich. I usually make the initially marks with watercolours adding quite a bit of water to the brush and then add inks in to the watercolours get that spontaneous vibrant effect.

Here we go! Day 1 of the #100dayproject. I used @kuretakezig_usa pens plus @carandache Neo colours. These are great dry materials that you can carry when you’re travelling because they are all water soluble.

I am hoping that I can do the #100dayproject this year. I have kept it simple this year with a broader theme- PAINTING PLACES AND THINGS I LOVE in my sketchbook. Always a challenge to balance it with regular art with commitments but fingers 🤞🏼
