#WeeknightWriters Hailey, the protagonist of my novel Savage as You suffers a bad accident in the prologue. Leaving her with an artificial knee. She becomes an ambulatory wheelchair user who needs a cane to walk. Adjusting to this change is a huge aspect of her arc in the novel.

#WIPSnips A short one. Didn't have a a great non-spoilery one that wasn't from a page I've posted already. In this scene, Danielle is pushing Hailey in her wheelchair along the park. They're discussing the homecoming dance, and the future. A teensy bit of sequel foreshadowing I forgot about, too.

#AwesomeCharacters Mythological, but a phoenix is like a built-in piece of Savage as You's symbolism. Rebirth means a lot in the book, not just through the journey of the story, but even things like Hailey's transition echo the sentiment. And the main 'power' of SaY manifests as a phoenix's quill.
