Kyshawn George says a focus in the offseason was improving his play in the paint. Said he found himself being indecisive after getting inside last year, wanted to be better at either getting a shot for himself or someone else.

Kyshawn says he added 4 pounds of lean muscle mass in the summer.

He says he grew about half an inch. Says he added 9 pounds of muscle

AJ Johnson looks quite a bit bigger now.

Carrington on what he and Whitmore will look like playing together: "It's going to look like we've played with each other before."

Asked if he knows Cam Whitmore, Bub Carrington: "Yeah, he's my son."

Bub Carrington says he wants to get downhill and finish at the rim more. Says he worked on it by working on one thing at a time.

Bub Carrington says he's up from 193lb to about 204lbs now. Says he'll probably play at around 200.

CJ McCollum says he's trying to help get Tre Johnson get some non-basketball hobbies (something McCollum admits he didn't have as much when he was younger). "Without balance, there's chaos."

CJ says he's never been on a team where players lifted on media day.

CJ McCollum says he's happy to reunite with Wizards assistant coach David Vanterpool. The two worked together in Portland.

According to a person w knowledge of Bilal's injury - Usually ~6 week recovery. From today, that takes you to Wiz second game of regular season - He suffered the injury midway through Eurobasket - Started wrapping thumb/hand with 4 games to go in tourney run (pic is from 8/31 game vs. Israel) (1/x)

Bilal Coulibaly had surgery to repair a ligament tear in his right thumb, an injury sustained during Eurobasket play. Looks like the injury could extend into the early part of the regular season.

Mystics and Wizards players went to Barry Farm Recreation Center in Southeast D.C. on Saturday as Monumental Sports and Entertainment hosted a ribbon cutting for two refurbished outdoor basketball courts. Both courts featured the WNBA's three-point line.

Kyshawn George chose to play for Team Canada — over Team Switzerland — because of a higher level of competition. He explained what he thought of his first run with the Canadian national team at FIBA AmeriCup at a recent Wizards charity event.
