Jacob Frey showed up to a DFL convention with barely more than 30% of delegates. Then the most normal thing happened: he lost. And bc he's a very special mayor, endorsement overturned! Proving the process goes much smoother if you shrink it down to a committee of party officials.

No matter what the DFL tries to say, remember that this happened. Multiple progressive campaigns spent months organizing and beat Frey so bad he staged a failed walk out and subsequently had to manipulate the state party into overturning the clear result. This can happen again in November.

If you want to know what really happened at the Minneapolis DFL convention mayoral tabulation: nothing sinister. Maddie is a good, sincere person and she shows her work. Frey folks only got bent out of shape AFTER the 1st ballot results popped out, when they saw how poorly their guy did.
