🎶 HERETOIR 🇩🇪 « Solastalgia » Like Der Weg Einer Freiheit and Thormesis very recently, Heretoir proves once again that Germans are masters of Black, post-Black or Blackgaze (call it what you will) that breaks new ground. Another beautiful and brilliant album.

🎶 CACOTOPIA 🇺🇸 « Cacotopia » An album I completely missed last May. If you like Mayhem, Immortal and Dimmu Borgir (with some beautiful progressive and technical touches), you'll love it.

MY 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ FAVORITE SONGS 🎶 (No particular ranking) 0️⃣0️⃣8️⃣ KATATONIA 🇸🇪 « I Break » This song was a bit of a way to fight fire with fire. As an unexpected and paradoxical support in a somewhat difficult period.

🎶 NEXION 🇮🇸 « Sundrung » Like their compatriots NYRST, NEXION have mastered the art of going from fire to ice. From fierce aggression to epic grandeur. Haunting and mystical Black/Death Metal.

🎶 NOVEMBERS DOOM 🇺🇸 « Major Arcana » I hope that by releasing it on « Ascension Day » (rather than in… November for example), this album won't be overlooked, because it's a fantastic Doom/Death record by a band that never disappoints. Magnificent, HEAVY and epic.

Every note is a delight, an enchantment. Each solo, each melody is more beautiful than the last. Gregor Mackintosh is a MAESTRO !!! 🎶🔥✨

🎶 PARADISE LOST 🇬🇧 « Ascension » Greg Mackintosh's enchanting, inimitable guitar, Nick Holmes's inhabited voice, Aaron Aedy and Steve Edmonson's powerful rhythms... everything that made me love Metal back in 1993 with 'Icon' is still there more than 30 years later. (1/2)

🎶 THE LAST OBLATION 🇪🇸 « Asunder Dreams » The new oblation is even better than the last. And that means a lot. Full of crushing riffs and sublime, epic melodies. One of the best DM albums of the year, as expected🔥🔥🔥🔥

Icons… idols… LEGENDS After a career spanning 37 years and 17 albums, they continue their ascension to the pantheon of Metal (and Rock in general). WHAT AN ALBUM ! WHAT A MARVEL ! 🥹🔥🙏🏻

🎶 HERUVIM 🇺🇦 « Mercator » Born from the chaos of war and the passion for Death Metal. Despite bombings and forced conscription, Heruvim managed to compose a great and fascinating debut album about their « pain, losses, and rebirth. » When music is as much a witness to reality as it is an escape.

🎶 LORNA SHORE 🇺🇸 « I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me » Pure Deathcore moments are still not my cup of tea, but the work on the orchestrations is amazing. Whether you like it or not, the vocal performance is breathtaking. The pain remains sometimes, but it fades and becomes almost addictive.

🎶DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT 🇩🇪 « Innern » Without ever denying their Black Metal roots, DWEF - true to their name - have always followed the path of artistic freedom. Technical, emotional, philosophical, this 6th album is further proof of that. A journey as explosive as it is introspective. Impressive.
