I started being active in the seminar and personal development arena when a bunch of "gurus" were active. They were mostly good at what they did, but some forgot Rule #1. EMPOWER people you work with, so they outgrow their need for you. Do that, and the old ones will come back, and bring new ones.

I don't mind anyone believing anything about the origin of our species and our role in it. First Amendment, Baby! But the device they use to spread their beliefs couldn't exist if the biblical story was true. It would kick the bottom out of the laws of physics that gave rise to the internet.

All the layers of natural phenomenon, from feeling pain when you stub your toe to the indisputable fact of other galaxies... Measured against pre-scientific claims of a god creating two humans in a garden... What gets us closer to reality? Science or supernatural superstition?

Every act that's intended to assert dominance over another instead of seeking self-mastery is an admission of fear and inadequacy. That includes sexual assault. I don't think he's capable of doing or being better. But we are.

I don't understand transexuals, since I've never had confusion about my sexuality. I don't have to understand them in order to respect, appreciate, honor and love them. And definitely not fear them. And give them a safe place to be themselves. About maybe learn about them while I do.

The heroes are the ones with proximity to power...who tell the truth and work in integrity, even if it costs them that proximity and the money and influence that goes along with it. The cowards will sell their integrity to keep it. And bailing when there's nothing left doesn't count as heroism.

Just anFYI… This is a taxpayer funded entity that has abandoned all pretense of being anything but the Oval Office occupant’s personal law firm. They’re not working for us. And at some point the desire to avoid civil unrest will be outweighed by the desire for representative democracy.

When I was a teenager and young adult intersted in politics, 60 Minutes was a go-to. I trusted their reporting over evening news, and not having discovered PBS news yet, they had my trust. Those days are long gone. And short of a public reckoning, they're not coming back.

In the past week I've heard two people say the Crusades were justified. One was here, the other was on a YouTube video. That's indefensible on its face. Took a minute but I figured out much of current Christian Nationalism likely believes this same thing and is looking to recreate a version of it.
