On my back roads adventure between Bridgeport and Bodie Ghost Town I ran across the Chemung Mine. Apparently it's haunted by the old owner who might or might not have been pushed down a mine shaft by a disgruntled miner. Word is he's pretty nice most of the time.... except for on Saturdays😬

This is (currently) the Grave of the Unknown Prospector. The new grave was put there by the Clampers in 2003. I shot the older photo sometime in the late 90s. It might be hard to read on here but there's no mention of a prospector at all. Just Mono Joe, a shepherd, and the Unknown Fisherman.
