In some Asian Buddhist traditions the figure of the Lohan contrasts the ordinary mortal who gains enlightenment with the beautiful archetypal figures of Buddhas and bodhisattvas. Clearly this Lohan statue is in the form of a member of Kraftwerk.

One of my friends lives in a very posh apartment in an extremely tall block in Manhattan. Here’s a video of the views from all four sides of the observation deck at the top of the building. Queen Latifa lives in one of the penthouses, he’s only on the 49th floor.

Hey #WeekendSingles Here’s my mini-haul from Brooklyn’s Black Gold yesterday. Sadly it didn’t quite live up to what it promised in terms of either coffee or vinyl, but this little lot cost me under a fiver, and it was a gentle introduction to US crate digging. Soul, garage, surf & a UK Yello 7”.

I’m in New York, it’s 7.40 on a Saturday night, and every Brit I know on BlueSky has gone to bed or has something more interesting to be doing. Except @andrewhickey.500songs.com, who exists in their own space/time continuum

Morning Vinylistas, mistas and sistas of the #WeekendSingles one track groove. After yesterday’s alternation of sunny spells and heavy hail, we’ve had overnight frost in mellow Coddington. Off to my old stomping ground Brizzle later on, in the meantime here are some archive fave 12”s.

Eleven days until I set off on my big trip, so I’d like recommendations for record shops with a decent stash of 7”s in: New York Portsmouth NH Washington DC San Francisco Auckland Wellington Sydney Melbourne Plus what should I pack for a two month trip that might not have occurred to me?
