This fox and I had a “moment” this morning. Pulled up a blind in my room, where the window was open, and he looked up right at me from his seed munching. I said, “oh, hello there” and he went right back to munching.

Back home. Fam emergency is that my dad is in the hospital with a UTI, which when you add in his dementia is combo that gives a form of delirium. So needed to get back asap from CFz to help my mom out. Now I’m here in the hospital, dad is sleeping but, damn, he looks so much more frail …

Sorry, CFz, but gotta head out sooner than I expected due to family emergency. Overall, I think it’s been good. Could be better, but I think that’s me not knowing many people here.

Out in Tseatah for the first time at CFz and I’m reminded why I don’t much care for costuming at furry cons anymore. Unless you’re popular, or well known enough, or in a group of similar costumes, it’s extremely hard to get noticed and photographed these days. It’s disheartening.

It's just amazing that "This time when I go to ConFuzzled, I'm only going to bring two costumes" has now turned into _five_ costumes now being on the "bring" list. How does this happen?!

Next weekend also is busy. LFM on Sat, and another Doctor Who event (the 1996 movie remastered in 4K getting shown at the BFI) on Sunday. Weekend after that is CFz. And to think I was worried I’d have little to keep me entertained in the UK.

Busy weekend. 2-day Doctor Who convention down in Crawley. Only a few hundred people. A very different feel to NA conventions. A Good Time™ was had.

Spicy take here… I don’t really ‘get’ the whole Twitch streaming thing. On many I’ve seen recently, the streamer seems to spend more time campaigning for ‘subs’ and reacting to ‘cheer’ stuff watchers are giving, than actually doing any gaming or arting.

Back from the second time I've ever voted in the UK. (First was just before I left for the US) There was a guy from Reform outside the polling station asking to see people's polling cards on the way in; I flatly and justifiably refused to show him mine.

TIL is that Jousting events are kind of popular here in the UK. I already know that the one nearest me (in August) is costume-friendly, and I’m just seeing if a couple of others that are happening in the early May Bank Holiday are too. Because if so… Khajiiting may occur…

Whee.. ‘fun’ adventure this morning with Virgin Media as I tried (without success) to get the new Hub4 they sent me to work in ‘modem mode’ so that it will work with my UniFi router. Except, according to the tech person, it was not properly going into modem mode. So, technician visit tomorrow.

I now have an EV charge point at home. All I need now is an EV that I can plug into it… which is now estimated to be March 31. :P

Welcome to village living. Our nearest towns are just under 4 and 6 miles away, but there’s only - at best- hourly service to each, and every 2 hours on Sunday. :P
