I don't even live in London and I'm tempted to subscribe. Partly because it looks like a well researched newspaper full of interesting stories. But mostly to see if this article capitalises on the rich seam of pun-potential in a story about snails and shell companies.

Best line: "I'm not Jo Swinsoning this!" Partly because it made me chuckle. Partly because it summed up the extremely pragmatic approach Zac takes. He knows his objectives, but he also knows the fastest way achieve them isn't always to go straight at them. Very interested to see where it goes.

Pleased to see Lewis's comment. Seeing nothing in mainstream newspapers, podcasts or TV news, I've been thinking 'wait, am I now part of the 'only-get-news-from-the-internet' crowd? Am I down the conspiracy rabbit hole?' Hope this gets more coverage soon so I can prove I haven't gone full truther.

We got @michaelrosenyes.bsky.social's 'Sticky McStickstick' from the library this week. What a fabulous homage to the NHS and the people that work there, all wrapped up in a story that can be loved by a three year old (particularly when Sticky hides in the washing machine).

Worrying undertone here that there's an "academic argument against DEI" on the basis of individual competence. DEI means casting the net wider to reach people in demographics that wouldn't normally apply. It reduces bias and increases quality by seeking excellent candidates from all walks of life.

I can't say whether these two things are linked. But it's clear that Musk and Trump want (as Zuck once did) to "move fast and break things". Today is a tragic warning that, when you're running a country rather than a corporation, the things that break are people's lives.

We've seen some fairly underwhelming examples of Christian leadership and dignity in the last few months in the UK. But this does show that, at their best, faith leaders can deliver a message of compassion directly at those that need to hear it. An example I hope (but doubt) others will follow.

Top draw toadying. Exactly the approach that @johnfinnemore.bsky.social's Mr Birling would reward with an enormous tip. I suspect that the toadying appreciation factor of Mr Birling and Mr Trump are in similar ballparks.

A remarkable listen. Andrew Norfolk carefully, softly, devastatingly sets out all the context you need to understand the current discourse. He is balanced, sensitive and doesn't shy away from identifying the failings and those that have been failed. A stark contrast to other voices.

I'm often impressed by Lewis's ability to recall the third placed candidate in a unimportant 1980s election. But summoning, for an off the cuff reference to vests, not just the name "Onslow" but the name of the actor himself ("Geoff Hughes") is already a candidate for obscure trivia of the year.
