A good time was had by all at The London West Hollywood as the feature film documentary "Billy Idol Should Be Dead" was screened. A very insightful Q&A followed with legendary punk rocker Bill Idol & producer J. Ralph hosted by Oscar winning director Cameron Crowe ("Jerry Maguire"). Billy was GREAT!

The fun never stops in Hollywood! It was lovely to finally meet a composer I've admired for decades recently, Max Richter. His score for "Hamnet" is sublime and I'm sure it will be nominated for an Oscar for 'Best Original Score'. The movie is beautiful, heartfelt and will move your soul.

More Hollywood adventures continue! Honored to have attended a concert/Q&A for "Avatar: Fire and Ash". Participants include; James Cameron (director), Simon Franglen (composer) & Mark Ronsen & Andrew Wyatt (songwriters). Mr. Cameron holds the #1, #3 & #4 spots in top box office hits of all time.

I was fortunate enough to meet some of the most talented stars, directors and composers recently! Honored to have been invited to the private reception/screening for "Sinners". Listening to this simply beautiful concert work by the late composer James Horner. This was his last completed concert work before his passing. These six parts really speak to my soul. If you’ve not listened to this, you may want to. If this doesn’t move you to tears nothing can.

Many don’t know, but my mother, is quite the artist. She painted this ornament that we hang proudly on our Christmas tree. This is just one of many I’m lucky to have and a treasure every one.

Just had a wonderful talk with “Scout” actress Mary Badham from TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (1962). She could not believe I had this already signed by the late composer Elmer Bernstein. She was friends with Elmer for decades and they adored each other. What a fun day :)

The concert last night was a big big success! So happy for Vince! He deserves it. The audience was very enthusiastic and you could tell they left happy, which is exactly what we all wanted!

Dave Grusin at the piano, nothing more is needed. I think I could listen to him play the theme from On Golden Pond on repeat for days, so beautiful. This album is worth picking up and/or stream.

Sorry to see that legendary songwriter, Charles Strouse, passed away at 96. I'm a big fan of his musical Annie & the movie version though many weren't big admirers. I loved it! Was honored he signed my CD covers & sent a signed copy of his book, which is fabulous & a great read.

The entire score from this film is perfection, but the final two tracks in the film “So Was Red” going into the “End Title” are phenomenal and so moving. Words escape me to describe it properly. A true honor to have this signed by Mr. Thomas Newman & the director Mr. Frank Darabont.

On the In Memoriam part of the Oscars, I love how Richard M. Sherman was shown. The screen went up, you could then see the orchestra clearly and behind was a scene of the Chimney sweeps from Mary Poppins with Richard's photo there. So honored to have had him at my yearly Fans of Film Music Event.

I've been thinking about Gene Hackman who passed away Wednesday at 95. He was a fellow Hackman & my favorite was Hoosiers, maybe because I'm from Indiana. So many incredible roles in a long career. Very sorry to hear he & his wife passed away. I do hope they find out what exactly happened.

I was a perfect age when the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies were released in the 90’s. It took decades, but to finally have all 3 scores released is music to my ears. And all signed by the composer, the funny, talented & humble John De Prez & I got the 1st signed vinyl from part 1!

Just secured a future Fans Of Film Music guest! Composer, musician, arranger, conductor & songwriter John Du Prez is a yes! You may know him from Monty Python's Spamalot for which he won a Grammy, his scores for the 1st three 1990's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films, A Fish Called Wanda & more.

We're going old school now with this classic film score from 1938 by composer Erich Wolfgang Korngold. This recording is sublime by two of the biggest champions of classic film scores; William Stromberg & the late John Morgan.

Started watching this brilliant film & had to stop to listen to the perfect score by the late James Horner. That theme my goodness, moves me. He really captured that era of space exploration in music so incredibly well. Scores like this speak to me deeply, words escape me.
