I’ve always said the zip code you grow up in should have nothing to do with your access to public school education. I held a forum in Rockford to hear from educators on how I can support our schools and kiddos who will grow up to be explorers, inventors, makers, and doers.

Year round E-15 just makes sense: it will lower your gas prices while creating markets for our farmers. I’m sick of my Republican colleagues dragging their feet on this. Lowering costs and supporting our farmers shouldn’t be political. Let’s get it done.

I led a roundtable in Peoria with local leaders, nonprofits, and neighbors to talk about affordable housing and homelessness. We’ve made progress by securing funding for local housing projects, but we still have a lot of work to do to fight the challenges impacting the housing market.
