Federal employees placing bets and making money off insider information is wrong. I’m demanding that the Trump Administration cracks down and actually enforces laws against insider trading in online betting markets.

My thoughts on Washington Republicans’ failure to pass a bipartisan deal to pay TSA:

I'm introducing the bipartisan Fertilizer Transparency Act to create a mandatory price reporting system for fertilizer. This new bill will give Illinois farmers certainty to make the best, most cost-effective decisions possible.

I became a Meteorologist partly because of the lessons learned from aviation disasters caused by severe weather. Today in the House Armed Services Committee, I worked to require oversight of the Army’s investigation into the horrific crash last year over the Potomac.

Definitely one of those “no time to toast the pop tart” kind of mornings!

March is National Kidney Month, and I am so thankful to be welcomed at DaVita Roxbury Dialysis Center in Rockford to learn more about the lifesaving care they provide to patients in our community. Grateful for the dedicated staff working every day to care for patients.

As the only Meteorologist serving in Congress, I’m working to make sure we’re keeping people safe in the face of severe weather. My new legislation would create a National Weather Safety Board — not to point fingers — but to keep my neighbors safe in future storms.

As prices at the pump rise out of control, E-15 would provide much needed relief for rising gas prices, reduce our dependency on foreign oil, and expand markets for our corn growers.
