Someone posted a School Photo Photograph from 1937 of a School I know my Father attended on Social Media and I found him aged 12 1/2.

Mid morning walk around Ely to get my bird year list started, 39 species but surprisingly no House Sparrows, but Redwings, Kingfisher and a pair of Buzzards calling and prospecting a nest site.

As we around the world welcome in 2026 I want to think about my family and friends in the USA who will be welcoming in 1939 under Trump. That’s me banned from entering anytime soon.

The New Bedford at WWT Welney this morning, just as I started my day of guiding and visitor engagement. Nearly 400 years ago this drain was dug by men (POW from the civil war), standing in water up to their waist and chests at times, it’s over 20 miles long.
