I finished Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God today and thought it was brilliant. Her prose is absolutely gorgeous in places and she had some interesting things to say about social/gender/relationship dynamics through Janie. Its a shame she wasnt recognized while she was still alive.

I am indoctrinating the younger DJs with late-90s/early-00s trance, hardcore, and hard house. I sit behind the decks after loading up a Tidy Trax song and laugh maniacally.

Its been a few years since I took all my music off streaming to focus entirely on direct sales to fans and I've seen no downside. I love seeing when my friends or longtime fans support my work and can interact with them directly. That's impossible in the modern corporatized music ecosystem.

Someone called the station during my show to ask me what grindcore was.

I was trying to get a song for my set tonight from a CD released in 2010 that never got released digitally, and one of the 3 options was a website that I thought died in 2017 that had it posted on "RapidGator" with a 2 min pause before downloading and speed-throttling. It's like I'm back in 2007.

Record Store Day is a waste of time, energy, and resources. It only benefits the labels who are buying up the production/distribution of music since they've successfully starved indie artists out with streaming. Those artists can't get stuff pressed because of garbage releases, and I can't stand it.
