Teaching my cat about white people culture aka #annoyingmycat

Saying goodbye to these babies was the hardest thing but it made me realize I want to convert this room and start fostering! I want to save many little lives. And so starts a new chapter.

We have a mother cat, her two kittens and a random orange cat living under our school in awful conditions. Trapped and rescued the two kittens yesterday and I am fostering them until I can get them to the shelter. #catrescue

Every once in a while I remember I have blue sky. Life without social media is strange, you forget your phone and apps exist. I’m still alive!

I still exist.

Next I climbed Casco Peak in the sawatch another Colorado Centennial. Then I left because a wildfire started 4 miles south of my campground and fires broke out all over Colorado. #colorado

It took 3 years of soil amending and trial and error but I grew two varieties of big beautiful beets! Wildfire smoke a serious drought, and clay soil be damned! Where there’s a will there’s a way! #garden

The last day I was in Heaton Bay, I did a quick run up a 9000 foot mountain out of camp. It was full of lovely wildflowers #colorado

I then met up with my buddy Mike to get into my favorite range the Gores and like Mount Silverthorn. #colorado

On the downside, Montrose is on fire, on the upside - sunset was 🔥

I did the peak 7&8 lasso from the west side and re-finished the Ten Mile Range 13ers #colorado

Sam enjoyed some time in summit county. #catsofbluesky #colorado

Climbed Bald Mountain, a Colorado bicentennial visibly seen from Breckenridge. Saw so much wildlife. #colorado

Moved on to summit county to a beautiful camp site on Lake Dillon. #colorado

The new living room I put together is a dream. The couch is everything. Everything is so comfy. Just need to get that awful fan down and replaced with something more low profile boho and this room is done!

Collard greens are one of my favorite things to grow because surprisingly, they make the absolute best wraps. While these aren’t quite big enough yet, I made them work. Collards, onion and cilantro from my garden. Rice and tofu from the grocery store.

I planted holly hock seeds last year and they grew but nothing like this year. This plant is taller than I am and is finally starting to bloom. There are hundreds of buds! I can’t wait!

The cherry tree I planted 3 years ago has taken off!

A unspeakable amount of my own back breaking labor went in to making this back yard an oasis. It had been 3 years and I have come so far. Custom planters for the privacy trellis have shipped and I’ll grow climbing flowers. I will need new deck furniture but that will take time because I want comfy.

I’ve been enjoying some desolation. #colorado

It has taken me 3 years to get lupine to grow, but here we are. I wish I wasn’t a grow every single thing from seed girly, but I am. Feels like fine art.

New couch who dis! I have never had a new couch in my life. It’s going to be nice not sinking into the middle. Sam would not sit on the old couch. This couch, meets his approval. I will need a new coffee table, and table and lamp (I’ll thrift for these).

I wondered how the drip irrigation system I built last year would hold up over winter. I did winterize the above ground tubing and removed all drip tape, carefully labeling zones and storing in my garage. It’s up and running with only two punctured lines. (These are easy to replace).

The largest bumble bee I have ever seen in my life hung out with me all day in the garden. Day 3 of non stop all day work. About 15% more to go and I can sit back and watch the magic! (Hard to see but it’s a massive be, def bumble not carpenter). Also have 2 baby love birds hanging around ❤️

The greatest lesson I learned after my failed garden in year 1, is you must relinquish control and let what will happen, happen. And it does happen! I can’t believe all the early surprises, like white libson onions going to seed and my hollyhock blowing up. It’s a labor of love!
