Today is the last day of summer school! It’s been a long month, but also so good to be with students again. T-minus 2 hours until my 4 weeks of summer starts and I can’t wait!! You will be able to find me at the lake when I’m not traveling with my daughter 💕

How are people affording groceries? I know I’m lucky to not live paycheck to paycheck. But my grocery bill has at least tripled and I’m buying the same things. This cannot keep up.

Now that I am making sourdough regularly…my diet is now at a minimum 70% bread 😂😂😂

What does it say that I wonder if I annoy my Alexa when I keep asking how much time is left on my timer?? 😂😂😂

I still am so confounded by people who question global warming when temperatures are abnormally cold. How are we so far into the conversation and people don’t know that global warming doesn’t mean everything gets warmer—but means more extreme weather. It’s not that complicated to understand. Ugh

I love a 3-day weekend. Allows me a day to just be and not put any pressure on myself “to get things done.” 😂Full disclosure—now that one teen is away and the other self-sufficient—I haven’t much felt the push “to get things done”😂

And my standup freezer is no longer freezing….so much wasted food. I’m so sad.

Oh…boys. Son leaves to go back to college in about 3 hours He hasn’t packed anything—still has clothes in the dryer He has to go pick up his car because they ubered home last night. He need to shower and fill up his gas tank I’m trying to stay relaxed 😂😂

Noah leaves to go back to college tomorrow. I’ll miss having him around. Not that I saw him a lot, but it was nice to get filled in on all the happenings. But I’ll have fewer dirty dishes, so I guess that’s a plus.

Drove by our old house today and my son was a bit put off by the relaxation that someone else was living there. He wished no one was living there and they certainly better not change/ruin anything. It was so sweet. Teen boys can be so stoic—so I like this glimpse of his emotion ☺️

Feeling spoiled and grown up. The TV I have wanted for 3 years…is finally mine. The Samsung Frame. So I can now have beautiful art displayed when I’m not watching TV. Need to get a frame attachment so it looks like “art”. But I still love it.

The district I teach in starts HS US history with Reconstruction and I’m just floored. I just…like what??

This wee my local writing project site did its annual advanced institute for TCs and I got so much work done this week and reconnected w/great folks. And we ended yesterday with a catered lunch and yoga. Feeling almost ready…

Looking forward to this project being finished (almost 2 years later) so we can start enjoying it again.
