We’ve just bought our first (and hopefully last) home, so I can finally have home charging and make the transition to EV in the near future. Naturally, I’ve already lost the run of myself and have ruined the car before I’ve decided if it’s even the one I might buy.

Well, if that’s not the most unusual retirement I’ve seen in a very long time. The lone Mustang hit a Kangaroo on Conrod Straight at 250km/h in near darkness at the start of the Bathurst 12HR. Driver okay, but he probably needs a shower…

Award for most interesting car in my local supermarket car park goes to… I’m almost sure it’s a replica, but it doesn’t take away from how cool it is. Also, I know you’d expect a car photographer to take a better photograph, but accompanying little human added another layer of difficulty.

I’ve no idea why we were throwing back to 2016 recently, but I did enjoy looking through what I shot that year. This was a particular unusual day which involved exploring abandoned airplanes, an empty runway and a Jaguar XJ220.

I will never grow tired of triple-twin spoke wheels. The nostalgia for me is immense, as there was a similar style of wheel fitted to my first favourite drift car, the HKS RS-1. These are Strom’s RF3 as fitted to James Deane’s S14A. Incidentally, it might be the most successful drift car ever?

I'm so proud to work with clients who value real photography in real locations. No AI generated images, no trickery, just lots of planning, permits, early starts and a little bit of luck with the weather. Recent commercial work for Volkswagen, shot on-location in Co.Dublin late last year.

I want to really focus on my commercial & editorial automotive work for 2026. I have very strong feelings on the current state of content creation, and would like to try and rally against the idea that content should be disposable. Also, human creativity > AI, but that's another discussion.

This will be my first time in a long time not being in the Formula E paddock, which feels strange still. I spent four full seasons as a team photographer and enjoyed my time in the championship immensely. I would love to work in FE again, but understand how unlikely that is.

A privilege and honour to document the Ballsbridge Beetle’s return home to Ireland. The very first RHD Beetle, and the first Beetle built outside of Germany, this 1950 split-window example is priceless.

We did it all for the rookies.

On a break at the moment with family in the south of Spain, our first trip abroad together since our daughter was born. Really appreciating this time off in between the mayhem of travelling & work, and grateful to be able to enjoy it.

Exploring São Paulo before the start of the 2025 #FormulaE season commences this weekend.

Out of sheer coincidence, I've listened to two podcasts recently on Death Doulas. It might sound grim, but it's a fascinating subject and one which we all have to face. First was on @davidfarrier.bsky.social Flightless Bird, and the second was @blindboyboatclub.bsky.social most recent episode.

For the first time this season, it's race week. First stop, Brazil for the São Paulo ePrix. Having never been to South America before this year, this is my second trip to Brazil in 9 months. I'm looking forward to experiencing hot rain for the week. #FormulaE

I forgot that I'm about to re-enter the world of 'what power adapter do I need this week?' for the next eight months.

It's been a good few weeks of keeping busy. I always fret about the 'off-season', but this has been a decent one. Wrapped a few electrified shoots up ahead of the opener to Formula E Season 11 next week. Cupra Born VZ, Formentor VZ & the new MINI Aceman all photographed on-location around Dublin.

Work lately has been, uh, varied. Press work, endurance racing, NEVO electric car show and the Run in the Dark. Breaking into video has been great fun, too.

Furthest I’ve been: E: Tokyo, Japan W: San Francisco, CA N: Oslo, Norway S: Cape of Good Hope, South Africa Only one continent left, which I hope to scratch off in 2024.
